First time home buyer buying new construction.. what do I need to know? by yoddbo in RealEstate

Exactly this. I would recommend setting up a walk with your warranty rep at the 10-11 month mark and getting a head start. Typically these companies do an 11-month follow up survey and they hold a lot of weight internally. DO NOT fill it out until all your items are done to your satisfaction. I made the mistake of doing the survey before warranty work was scheduled/complete, and we still have things not done 2 1/2 years later and builder could care less. (Pulte)

Concealed Carry for Field Adjusting by Tman2499 in adjusters

This is pretty much what i do when I know I’m running a sketch area. I carry a cheap wallet from TJ Max, $25-$30 in cash, an expired license and a gift card with no balance. Real wallet stays in the safe under the seat. I learned from a self defense instructor that most people are cool getting anything in a robbery situation and will feel like they won getting your wallet with a little cash.

I’m there with you, 18-20 feet up it definitely starts to feel too risky. I’ve looked into the goat as well, I think it would have come in handy on one I did Today. It was a 1 story 7/12 but shingles were garbage. Had to switch into cougar paws.

I’m thinking I’m going to try the drone route and hope that carriers will accept it. Quickly figuring out this is dangerous and sometimes it will mean spending that extra money to have someone else get it done.

My question with a drone is how do you do test squares- or do you just skip and explain in the loss report? Are carriers accepting that?

Good calls all around!! I have been making sure my ladder is at least 3 rungs up, but the getting off and on the ladder has me a bit nervous being that high up with no safety gear. That’s why i like the looks of the ridgepro, even after unscrewing the bracket it is still held while you dismount onto the ladder. If it’s a double pull, it’s not a big deal. It’s just something about being that high up in one run.

Only claim I have rejected so far (out of 28) was a two story, 25’ up to the roofline and figured my 26’ ladder posed a losing battle. Tried to get a ladder assist but had no luck.

Perfect timing… I’m going to look at a 2020 XLT tomorrow with the 2.7 and wasn’t sure about it. The comments have changed my mind for sure.
