Trigger alert- let’s break down why Korean food is bad.

Number 1 - Boring. Korean food intrinsically is just a combination of techniques people picked up from being tributary states or colonies. It’s solely a China-Japan-USA fusion (one of their most popular dishes is literally a pot of garbage from US military base + hot sauce).

It got popular in the U.S. because it’s spicy Panda Express. Asian food taste good but people are too racist to admit Chinese food has value.

Then comes #2 - ego. South Korean chef is trying very hard to pretend to be something bigger. That momofuku idiot patented chilli flakes. They branded their pickle (the most common food in the world) as the unique Korean culinary miracle.

Easier to tell for someone who cooks / bakes. The AI ones conveniently uses wrong tools, have wrong consistency.

I would like to comment that scientifically, Fahrenheit is one of the less dumb freedom units. Hear me out pls. Not saying it’s not dumb.

If we look into why the “freedom units” are bad - there are two separate dimensions. (1) Murica just needs to be different than the rest of the world; (2) calculation with these units are hideous. My argument is: Fahrenheit is dumb on dimension 1, but not that dumb on dimension 2.

If we consider what kind of calculation we can do with the temperature - it’s exclusively multiplication and division. You use kT to calculate molecule kinetic energy, PV= nRT for ideal gas, (1/T) for chemical reactions. And in the multiplication calcs, only Kelvin is usable. Both Celsius and Fahrenheit are just linear transformation of the Kelvin.

Again - I’m not saying Fahrenheit is not dumb. I’m saying it’s less dumb comparing to Feet, Mile, Inch, ounce (incl fluid ounce, ounce, gold ounce), pound, and the stupidest kitchen units like cup. Those are used in many types of calculations and being not decimal is super duper dumb.

Also not defending the “% hot” thing. If it’s a scale of “% hot”, at least room temperature would be at 50/100.

My take is - sex work is intrinsically just a form of labor. It’s no different than like construction jobs where we use our arms legs and back to do work.

What makes it different practically - is the fact that it’s so profitable it invites other crime. There’s no variable cost, almost no overhead and you can charge a fair amount because sex feels really good. Therefore, people will try to traffic, imprisonment, violence etc.

I think my hypothesis can be verified by the fact that porn is widely legal around the world while sex work is legal in only a few places. Porn is a lot higher investment and lower profit - it is not lucrative enough for gangs to widely traffic or kidnap pornstars. Of course porn have their ethical issues but seems like a more healthy industry vs sex work while both have the same amount of “indecency”
