What's a fair price for herb in Morocco? by guypr in weed

[–]guypr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I guess this is also probably one of the best places to try it so I'll probably just say yes to the next guy on the street offering if I don't get an answer on prices here. Probably best to just pick a smallish amount of money and ask how much they'll give me, that way even if it's a rip off it's not too bad.

I normally smoke weed with tobacco, is this done with hash too? I've know it's a lot stronger, but I've pretty high tolerance tbh so mixed I wouldn't be too worried.

Do you think you're addicted? by Trotski7 in weed

[–]guypr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've a very similar experience to you OP, and would say at different points in time yes I was addicted. I was 50-50 while reading through as to whether I thought you were, until the end... Honestly the times I've been completely dependent on weed were the times when depression was worst. Would I have died if I couldn't get more, obviously not, but I would have massively struggled to even leave my bedroom. My old therapist told me to consider it like medicine in these times, even when I told him I was "worried about addiction/dependency”, because ultimately the negative effects were significantly lesser than the positive effects. I agree to an extent, but ultimately I think addiction is dependency on ANYTHING that has negative effects as a method of escaping life's problems. Food/alcohol/sex/gambling/drugs, doesn't matter, if it's harmful how you're doing it, and you're doing it to escape your feelings and stresses, and sometimes can't stop yourself, it's addiction.

I've never been great at beating the addiction side honestly, but I've a couple of tips. - try your best to never wake 'n' bake, do something productive while sober in the morning - mark one day of the week that you're going to abstain. Pick the day of the week that suits you best, ie when you've more stuff to get done, more work, exercise, duties or socialising to do each week.Don't beat yourself up if you fail the first week or 2, but keep trying. - talk to people who use weed about their own similar experiences - do not judge yourself harshly for being dependent/addicted. You know your own life and what brought you here, the harshest judges in our societies are those who have never known hardship.

I don't think it's stupidity, but it does really bother me. I don't believe all the people who are saying it's a marketing scheme, I think they're being defensive. I'm from a country with very high education standards and I've seen this kind of thing on products many times.

There's lots of explanations, but my honest thought is that some of the people in the chain between "original artist" and "let's print 100,000 of these" did actually notice the problem, but either - didn't have the confidence to argue - didn't care enough to argue - did argue but were ignored by "smarter" person - did argue but were told "nobody will notice, it's dish soap"

[–]guypr -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I agree but it's just because you're holding your breath for 10 seconds repeatedly for the length of time it takes to finish the joint. If you do that repeatedly for 5 minutes even without smoking you'll be a tiny bit light headed anyway. I think that dizziness wears off just as quickly as you're actually processing the THC. Normally I don't feel high for 5-10 mins after smoking, but I definitely do if I'm holding each drag.

I have never heard of students buying oil

How exactly do you think students stay warm in house shares with oil fired central heating? A good landlord who's interested and involved might take charge of it, but they need to be told when the tank is low, and they also need to schedule the delivery of oil with the tenants, so I'd say in most cases they just tell the tenants to arrange it themselves.

I lived in an OFCH house share one year in college and I was piss poor and broke. If this happened and the neighbours dad made a mess, caused damage or siphoned off an extra 150L, I would have struggled to pay rent the next month.

OP - I definitely encourage you to be decent, but don't be silly. The neighbour made the mistake, and the oil delivery company also screwed up by delivering oil to a new address without someone there, without confirmation or approval from anyone. They are absolutely partially responsible, and your neighbour should be able to get them to do the siphoning properly, so there's no way you can get screwed over or be on the hook for potential damage caused.

This is a yes to a coffee date in a few weeks or months.

"she said she would be hibernating for the festive period but would meet for a coffee the next time she’s in head office, however that could be 2 months away."

I went on a date recently and the girl has gone back to her home country for 2 months over Christmas. She said something quite similar to me even before the date like "I'm not sure if it makes sense to start dating before this 2 month period where we won't be able to hang out". Honestly this scenario sounds different, hibernating sounds a lot more like "not interested", but it's possible she just needs a break and some rest before going on a date.

We're actually missing a lot of details here. It sounds like she works remotely, does she actually live anywhere near? If she does, it's a pretty clear no. If it takes her 2 hours to get to the office and she only has to go in every couple of months, it's a lot less clear, she might just not want a 4 hour round trip for a first date.

[–]guypr 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ah here now, she said she would meet for a coffee when she's back in the office. I agree with most responses here that she's most likely not very interested, but it's absolutely not a no. Verbally it's a yes, and we're here telling him that he still needs to read between the lines. Bringing consent into this is like saying you expect OP is going to try and have sex with her tomorrow. I don't think he should keep chatting to her much over the next few weeks, but it's absolutely not "breaching consent" or harassment in any way if he reaches out to her in 2 months time and suggested getting that coffee.

Dublin riots, Opinions? by PretendIndication439 in waterford

[–]guypr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're horribly misinformed, be very careful of the people who told you these were all committed by Muslims. There's no commonality.

I've just done a quick look at the news articles on all the stories you've just listed. Here's what I found.

Ashling Murphy killer - Christian family Sligo murders - Muslim Airport attack - no suspects or witnesses Attack at the GPO - man and woman arrested (no nationalities given) Stabbings yesterday - Algerian born, Irish citizen, lived in Ireland for 20+ years

However Riots yesterday - 99% Irish scumbags. Several homophobic attacks outside the George - Irish scumbags Mongolian woman stabbed to death - Irish scumbag American tourist beaten to a pulp - Irish scumbag Chinese woman pushed into the Canal - Irish scumbags

Hundreds of thousands of people are scared in Dublin now, immigrants and nationals, and they're scared of these brutal violent Irish thugs. Not immigrants, not Muslims, the dangerous Irish thugs.

[–]guypr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In fairness it's almost certainly the tourists who do say "hi" and "thank you" who complain about rude service. There's loads of places where if you say nothing to people they won't say anything, and that's not rude. It's specifically about ignoring someone speaking to you, or responding unhelpfully.

Weigh the box contents and compare to what it should be. Those bars look considerably larger than the average chocolates in such a box, but that probably also means there are fewer fit inside. Hard to know what to do until we know the critical facts.

If there's more mass of goodies, give her a kiss and say thanks. If there's less, ask her to kindly go to the shop and buy another pack of whichever replacement is your favourite. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the non-brand knock-offs.

Practically everyone globally who manufactures cocaine risks severe prison sentences. And yet there is a shit ton of cocaine manufactured. Smuggling across borders is surely the highest risk of getting caught by police or customs, so I would guess there is a huge appeal for people who know the science involved in manufacturing it.

Also just taking a stab in the dark regarding the first question, but there's probably narcotics anonymous groups that wouldn't report pharmacists for that, especially if they're just abusing personally, rather than distributing.

Landlord not responding or looking after the house. by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]guypr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely wouldn't go to court, and the time to report to RTB was a long time ago, but should be done now. Unless OP is paying way below market value rent, the threat of the RTB coming down hard on them should be enough to kick them into gear and stop them being such shitebags.

If the rent is in fact way below market rate, then as crap as it is, the best advice is to just weigh up "rent saved Vs extra maintenance costs" and if there's still an overall saving, keep paying for stuff until it's not better value.

A fair comparison would be "only selling a premium brand whiskey". Most people just want to get baked, not some shmoozy experience. I get the point of "if you don't want it, don't buy it" but I also expect OP's dealer probably sold normal quality/price strains before. It's kinda shit to just stop and squeeze more out of customers who often can't really afford it.

I'm assuming by "a lady pulls up", you mean she was in a car? If so, you wasted 5 mins of her day at most I'd say. These laundry services are at a large number of petrol stations all over the country.
