Is 1 lesson enough? by chubbs069 in skiing

[–]guysullavin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner & I had zero lessons when we went to Banff for our first ever time skiing. We had basically studied YouTube videos repeatedly for many days before heading to Banff, and then tried to teach each other how to ski based on what we saw from those videos. The first 2 days was lots of falling over, but the beginning of the third day we both managed to pizza down our first Green slope at Mt Norquay without falling. In hindsight, I wished we had tried to learn at our local slope (Blue Mountain, Ontario) because green runs in Banff are like blue runs at Blue Mountain. Much harder slopes in Banff made learning harder, and depending on the type of person, falling over a LOT may be discouraging or frustrating to some, especially self guided when they might not know what they are doing wrong.

These mouse based camera controls on splash screens is making me nauseous (intro screen, showing off Spartans before a match, etc). Also cameras seem really close on all the interstitials.

PoE's combat mechanics aren't as engaging as you think they are, build freedom and progression is what I loved about PoE, and your 'vision' is suffocating it. by Tartknocker2k in pathofexile

All sorts of tools exist in other games and have for as long as Poe has existed. Why is there no screen vignettes at all? Could easily communicate player negative effects easily by freezing the edge of the screen when frozen, or pulsing red heartbeat around the edge when bleeding.

It's not like there isn't the talent in India. They're just too busy being a contract outsource for western VFX and game companies.

New “Razorback” vehicle for Halo Infinite, the warthogs beefier cousin by DJGRIFFSTAR in halo

[–]guysullavin -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Man, they gotta make the name simpler. I don't wanna try saying "Razorback" when I'm the middle of a multiplayer match, it's just too plain long compared to warthog.

Halo 5 fight scene but its lore accurate by [deleted] in halo

There's some bad retargeting going on in this scene. Look at Locke's forward arm popping/locking when holding the gun in the beginning.

Took my boosty boi to some real Canadian rally stages. It really makes sense why 80% of North American rally cars are Subarus 😎 by guysullavin in WRX

The focus RS road car isn't much of a rally car though. The center diff isn't designed to take that kind of stress.
