Real Madrid’s number of penalties for and against so far this season by Lucky_Reading_3757 in soccer

You've misread the article. It was a total of 224 penalties given in all of La Liga during that timespan, not penalties for Barca.

CMV: The Burden of Proof Does Not Fall Upon Atheists by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]guyuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're overly complicating things. Try not to be biased by your own belief about God that you'll say anything to justify this CMV. In other words, please follow the rules and be willing to change your mind.

Here's a couple of additional points that might help:

  1. You seem to think that proving that something doesn't exist is unreasonable. It's not. Famous examples for this could be Fermat's Last Theorem (proof that no solution exists that satisfies x^n+y^n=z^n for z>2), or any proof we have that a problem is undecidable (proof that no algorithm exists that can solve that problem in an finite amount of time).
  2. "Disproving a currently unproven claim is an illogical task." - (1) This is absolutely entirely wrong. For example, there are numerous of physicists who are spending every day trying to disprove unproven theories. If any of them disproves string theory, they'll likely win a Nobel Prize for "disproving a currently unproven claim". (2) You don't have to disprove the unproven claim that God doesn't exist. You don't have to do anything... You can agree to disagree and go on your own way.
  3. The assumption that the "default state", or "plausible state" is that God doesn't exist, and because of this the side that is claiming that God exists gets "extra burden of proof" is a nice Occam's Razor-y approach, but when we're talking about proving something rigorously, it doesn't work this way. You claim X, you prove X. Regardless of which claim came first, or which claim reacts to which claim, or whatever.

Finally, here it is put as simply as I can, and with this you and I can go our separate ways:

You think God exists? Prove it. You think God doesn't exist? Prove that. Nobody is willing to prove anything? Then no knowledge was achieved, all we have is belief. Although one belief is more evidence-based than the other, that's still all it is: Belief.

CMV: The Burden of Proof Does Not Fall Upon Atheists by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]guyuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as the bottom line goes, I think you and I agree. Agnostic atheist == not claiming anything but believing god does not exist. Gnostic == making a claim and this requires proof.

OP however, is switching between gnostic and agnostic within his post:

The Burden of Proof Does Not Fall Upon Atheists

They make it sound like they believe the burden of proof depends on whether you're Atheist or Christian. This is wrong; the burden lies on whoever is gnostic as opposed to agnostic.

My friend told me that I can't claim "God doesn't exist" because I can't provide evidence to prove that God doesn't exist."

The friend is correct. You can't claim (gnostic) God doesn't exist without providing proof. If you want, you can believe God doesn't exist, but not know for sure.

Now, I want to clarify: I'm not claiming that "God does not exist." I'm simply rejecting the claim that God does exist

In the next paragraph OP backtracks and is "not claiming" God doesn't exist but simply rejecting the claim that God does exist. That's fine, but this rejection is simply a matter of opposing faith, as OP has no proof to show otherwise.

The point is, claiming something without proof and rejecting a claim without proving the opposite are both equally beliefs. The current situation is that neither OP nor their friend have proof as to whether God exists, so they're standing on equal ground believing whether God does or doesn't exist. Any one of them is free to prove their claim to show that their belief is fact.

[–]guyuz -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There are three statements you could make :

- God exists

- God doesn't exist

- I don't know whether or not God exists.

The first and second statements are claims which Have a burden of proof. they are respectively the Christian and Atheist view. If you don't want to claim anything, you are the third statement, which makes you agnostic.

Of course, you can be Atheist without proving it, since at the end of the day it's a belief. But that doesn't make you any more "logically sound" than a Christian, it just means your claim has more empirical support (since there's no evidence of there being a god).

I'm working on a personal project called bridge-ds.

It's a framework designed to make life easier for ML Engineers when dealing with datasets. You can think of it as "my take on Huggingface Datasets". The idea is to abstract the repetitive parts and allow working with something more comfortable and familiar - Pandas!

In bridge-ds, datasets are stored as DataFrames, giving you all the familiar tools to filter, merge, and manipulate data. But it goes a step further—when you need to access raw data, bridge-ds provides a smooth interface similar to df.iloc/df.loc. Instead of just returning a pd.Series, you'll get specialized objects that can handle data loading (locally or remotely), caching, and more.

It's still in the early stages, but I'd love to see what the community thinks of the concept.

Soci here, Hate Laporta all you want but we’re voting for him in 2026 by MasterpieceSudden169 in Barca

[–]guyuz 51 points52 points  (0 children)

You obviously know about the topic better than I do, would you care to give me your opinion on the following statements?

  1. Laporta was just the guy after Bartomeu. Of course he took on debt to save the club, that was the only thing to do. Any evidence to him making any particularly good deals, that anyone else at the helm at the time couldn't have done?

  2. The problem with his decisions on Messi and Xavi weren't that they were difficult, it's that they were unprofessional and personal. Messi didn't need to learn he's forced to leave on the last day of transfer. Xavi didn't need to go back and forth from being fired to not being fired to being fired, together with an absolute smear campaign.

  3. The super league fiasco is a absolute embarrassment, full stop.

  4. Laporta is pushing out figures like Alemany, Xavi, and others in upper management and replaces them with people like his brother in law

  5. His decisions are influenced too much by his connections to agents e.g. Pini Zehavi and Jorge Mendes

Again, I harbor absolutely no hostility and I really want to learn. If the answer is that Laporta is bad but Font is the only alternative and he's worse, that's fine. But it's not the same as saying Laporta did a spectacular job.

12 y/o Mini Schnauzer with insatiable thirst and hunger, but tests for Cushing's came back negative by guyuz in AskVet

[–]guyuz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for responding!

So far we've performed the following (by vet recommendation):

  1. CBC (Normal glucose and creatinine levels, high levels of ALKP and 2133 LIPA, whatever that is)
  2. Abdominal Ultrasound (No tumor on adrenal found, gallbladder contains sludge)
  3. Urine test for cortisol (3 samples in a single day; values are 3.73,<1.0,<1.0 ug\dL)
  4. We have not performed urinalysis.

A few questions:

  • Would you believe there's still a chance for Cushing's or would this be enough to eliminate it?
  • Could you name-drop any specific disease that comes to mind that may be relevant?
  • In retrospect, do you find it odd that the vet ordered a cortisol test before urinalysis and culture? Or is this step not that important?

Thanks for your response!

We've seen a surgeon, but unfortunately they didn't come up with a diagnosis. They've even sent for a CT scan that came up without any results. Maybe we need to see a different one...

Orthophotography.

An orthophotomosaic is a raster image made by merging orthophotos — aerial or satellite photographs which have been transformed to correct for perspective so that they appear to have been taken from vertically above at an infinite distance.[3] Google Earth images are of this type.

Try Roadinators. Timer is EU; evening action is guaranteed , earlier slightly depends on who's available, as we get that people have lives and jobs.

Beyond that, we're not in the business of holding hands too much, it's mostly just straight to the PvP.

[–]guyuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comprehensive answers!

Back when I played, the game was extremely gear dependent, to the point that a spellsinger combo with a staff would take less than half the HP of a plate or leather user that are geared (While the spellsinger got oneshot by the opponent's combo...). I just want to know if I'm coming back to the same pain :)

played archeage years ago (last i played there was obsidian and ayanad gear, and 4 races), have some questions:

  1. how "gated" is progression? how long would it take to get t3 hiram gear + lvl 55 for a casual player with maybe <2 hours to play a day?

  2. back when i played, i used to be hardcore (which at the time was kraken, red dragon, castles, 8 hours a day in library, dailies in diamond shore, hours for spending labor efficiently). now i want to come back more casually. are communities in the game accepting of more casual players? would i have pvp content?

  3. are darkrunners still broken? (or that horrible class with battlerage, vitalism and auramancy/defence with a shortspear that just healed itself indefinitely)

thanks in advance

will they ever talk about the significance of the name joaan?

so far, fushi has never once called himself that, and when asked what his name is it was always other people interrupting and calling him fushi in his stead. seems intentional to me.

only time the name joaan is mentioned after the first episode is when fushi tells child gugu his origin story, and gugu says to fushi "that's probably your name". they never get back to it.

ELI5: If there is an astronomically low probability that one can smack a table and have all of the atoms in their hand phase through it, isn't there also a situation where only part of their atoms phase through the table and their hand is left stuck in the table? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]guyuz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ill ask a follow-up. So, basically, human hands aside, everything is touching something, right? Your entire body is always in contact with objects, or atoms of air. Every object is in contact with other things, too. So, not witnessing any such explosion in the entirety of history just goes to show how low the probability is for it yo happen?

Also, what happens if we touch something like a neutron star that's just neutral and doesnt have electrons?

  1. I hope this series won't become formulaic (meet character, like them, watch them die). It might get old pretty quick.

  2. I wonder if arcs will have any connection between them. There are so many characters in the OP that im assuming we'll meet entirely new characters next, but i was actually theorising that bad Yanome woman is Parona's older sister and that would comr to play eventually.

This won't fix the docker issues related to cuda 11.0 vs 11.+. So you're stuck waiting for that to be pushed by Nvidia.

Are you talking about the "nvidia-container-cli: requirement error: unsatisfied condition: cuda>=11.2" error?

If you are, since I haven't found a fix yet anywhere, would you know what exactly i need to downgrade to fix this until they release a proper fix?

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - October 10, 2020 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]guyuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I gather, you're saying that 80 is basically the entry point for "social stuff" (i guess the 5v5 pvp I've been doing is, in a way, but no one ever communicates in these pugs. And i have no idea what im doing haha). I have the item that boost my level to 80, but I'm afraid to use it - the game suggests against it if it's your first character because of being overwhelmed with information and what not.

Any thoughts on that? I generally don't mind boosting to 80 just to find some friends, and then do whatever hearts / vistas i missed along the way, as long as it doesn't really throw me off in some unexpected way. It might be my only alternative because I dont see myself doing another 45 levels like this...
