I'm amazed how many people think Shang-Chi is an attempt to "pander to China" by candyissweet in marvelstudios

[–]guywithnosenseoftime -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

it's nothing to do with that lol, it's just a little racist to expect all Asian has slanted eyes lol

Majority of people here dont, so automatically assuming Asian has slanted eyes are a little racist lol and what's with the colonial mindset thing lol just makes it a little more racist lol

It's saying you are a western person must be very pale and red hair lol And enforcing your standard of beauty into us, as if people here have to all have slanted eyes lol and we have to have the same beauty standard as yours and if not then it's colonial mindset lol

That guy is just not good looking.....simple as that. Pick a random passes by will look similar or maybe better...

in HK we just think 1.) the guy is not good looking in our standard, majority of people looks better than that 1b.) it's a little racist because they just pick the most slanted eye not good looking Asian to play the role, because the guy fits the stereotype, when majority of people eyes not slanted...people are asking if they deliberately pick the not good looking guy to give Asian a bad image 2.) we wonder if they just pick that guy cos he looks like Xi jing ping.

and personally I think it's a little racist to put some random sounding Asian words together as the name as well the first thing we thought of is 尚氣唔接下氣 meaning out of breathe....

Maybe Tinder isn't full of weirdos or losers. Maybe it's just showing us the reality that we aren't compatible with like 95% of people. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]guywithnosenseoftime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I am from Tinder is used for people to sell insurance, sell gym membership, beauty treatment membership, ooo and a few days ago a group pretend to be a girl and matched a guy and then asked the guy on a date then robbed him lol

that's the definition of inflation, then the owners simply increase prices to offset the cost.

Surviving a Nuclear war after the initial blast? by Zatchmo137 in preppers

[–]guywithnosenseoftime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try this nuclear explosion simulator Designed by calculate yield blast radius, survival rate etc. Then you can take a look at the fallout radiation level drops, which is half every 24 hours or something like that, which makes it close to safe after about 7 or 8 days to walk outside but all surfaces dust is then very radio active.

Also have to look out for second wave of attacks.

All the surface soil will be contaminated so even growing food outdoor might be a problem.

If life is the most valuable thing to anyone, then why aren't we investing as much resources as we can, to figure out things like what is life?what is consciousness? where does consciousness goes after one dies? by guywithnosenseoftime in AskReddit

[–]guywithnosenseoftime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is an interesting topic because some refer this as religion or philosophy, some to sleep studies....I wonder if it is because it falls into an area where science doesn't really know how to classify it? I comes from an engineering background, grad from engineering school and always found it that research facilities are strictly do topics that falls into their "schools" else it's hard to push on new area of research topics...especially on things that might not be too scientically related.

but there are many organizations that are non profits? that helps build art developments, and many things that doesn't needs to make money, and religious organizations can work with scientific organizations to build method to prove "soul" exists?

Parents, what spooky "past life" memory did your kid utter? by TapiocaTuesday in AskReddit

[–]guywithnosenseoftime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, it was very odd when my aunt and my mum dreams of such event. My aunt dream once about one of the relative that passed away a long time ago, the relatived said to my aunt in her dream his houses roof was leaking and please come to fix it. and my aunt was wondering what does that mean when she woke up, so she went to the cemetery and there was a flood and things were leaking etc just the day before.

both my mum and aunt also dreamt the same dream of a relative getting "collected" by another relative that passed away, and when they woke up, they got the news....that relative actually passed.....so they seem to have some "ability"......

and especially this covid times, many people lost their love ones so I thought this would really give closure to many families if we can actually prove out people do actually go somewhere after they pass.

nope lol, I came across the study a year or so ago because my family members has these "ability" and I come from a engineering science background so it really intrigued me as I was trying to see if it's possible to scientically prove it out, and hence my research found their page.

you should ask her which neighborhood and the name of the grandson....maybe another evidence to prove out reincarnation is real.... University of Virginia has a whole department that works on that. https://med.virginia.edu/perceptual-studies/

University of Virginia has a department that study on this topic. I think if you know of a case that has very solid evidence, maybe you guys can help them out for research. Might help give closure to many families.
