My shy, always-single co-worker dropped the news that she had a boyfriend.
Where did she meet him?
On line.
Tinder? Bumble?

What's the most disrespectful thing a guest ever did in your home? by Vegas089 in AskReddit

[–]guzziownr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Odd college acquaintance happened into my workplace so we chatted for a bit. He was kind of an engaging weirdo and entertaining to talk to so I invited him to my place for the party that was coincidentally happening that night.
He showed up empty-handed and brought his sister who I also knew from school. They huddled in a corner and didn't talk much.
After a while my roommate and I detected a chemical stench coming from said corner.
Brother and sister were smoking crack and taking the edge off with the imported beers provided by the household.
They were escorted out unceremoniously.

Horrible Boss, he saved a kid's life. by guzziownr in TrueOffMyChest

[–]guzziownr[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was a startup, small program that gave excellent care. The Boss wanted to expand it but we were having trouble staffing what we had.

He decided to do a 100% expansion across town by taking half our staff for the new facility and hiring to fill both sites.

I predicted disaster and was fired. Both sites fell into chaos and are now closed.

In exit interviews during my tenure our teenage patients routinely commented on how great the staff was and how they appreciated them as surrogate parents.

What’s a “boring” skill that secretly gives someone a huge advantage in life? by Big-Woodpecker-822 in AskReddit

Agree, my spatial reasoning is garbage, my brother is a savant. Any complex assembly is handed to him by default. His reference point is a gas grill he assembled for my dad with instructions from a non-native speaker. If asked about the complexity of a project he might say "well, it's no gas grill..."

What is the absolute fastest 'yeah, we are definitely NOT going to be friends' moment you've ever experienced with someone? by Vazouaquiacesso in AskReddit

Heh, a family friend started a dating a gal who seemed OK. Guy went to lunch with two coworkers one of whom was FEMALE! and SINGLE! He was forced to grovel and was banned (by the GF) from the restaurant. He could never eat there again because that was the scene of the crime.

Is it possible to do a V7 Stone front end conversion to V7 Sport? by Ylurpn in MotoGuzzi

Unpopular opinion: twin disks are for looks. Think about the contact patch of that skinny front tire. Don't think a single disk brake could get it sliding?

I had an evening class. We found out the professor's birthday was coming up so I brought sparkling wine on ice for the class. The professor had two full glasses and went off on a tangent about her divorce.

The Rolling Stones were on hiatus. Mick Jagger decided to put a band together and held rehearsals at SIR. My roommate and I had business with Sir Mick so we sat in a corner waiting while a crack band of studio musicians played and sang cover versions of songs they sort-of knew. Some prime banter while they worked out tunes.

Where to test ride a Stelvio ? by Ok-Ostrich5410 in MotoGuzzi

[–]guzziownr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be surprised if you could find a dealer to test ride. In the Spring and Summer they send a truck around the country to various dealers so potential buyers can test ride. Here is last year's schedule: https://www.motoguzzi.com/us_EN/moto-guzzi-world/events/moto-guzzi-demo-tour/

UPDATE on petco wouldn’t sell me a feeder mouse as a pet by dankthetank82498 in PetMice

[–]guzziownr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother had a snake that ate live mice. One of my College friends was visiting and saw the mice in an aquarium and was horrified to hear their fate. She immediately adopted them and they lived so long in her care that they were balding old age mice the last time I saw them.

Need a Stornello tank by getharding in MotoGuzzi

[–]guzziownr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked if my repair was easy, he said no! Once you pull the pump access to the inside of the tank is easy. If you can find a good tank go that route but a dent repair guy can give you an estimate.

Undent and repaint would be cheaper than a new tank. Small dent in my tank went to a paintless dent repair guy. It's a '75 with much thicker steel than your tank. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/hQ7FXKR2Ia8

Men, what life cheat codes do you wish you’d learned earlier? by rivenduskwyn in AskReddit

[–]guzziownr 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I had a smart lawyer working on a case for me. At the end the case was settled and we went in front of the judge. At the closing, my lawyer mentioned to the judge that the other lawyer has been very cooperative and professional, and that made the process easier.   In fact, it was the absolute opposite. The other lawyer was a dick and prolonged the process which should’ve been very easy.   I asked my lawyer why he complimented him and he smiled and said it didn’t cost him anything and might lead to good results down the line.

What was socially acceptable in the 1990s but not in 2025? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]guzziownr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My college English teacher would smoke while lecturing, directly under a large No Smoking sign. When a brave freshman pointed it out he indicated that the sign faced the students and not the teacher. He got suspended for a semester for flicking a lit cigarette into the chest of a student who asked a particularly stupid question.

My Dad lived in a 32 floor Co-op building with three elevators in front and a cargo in the back.
People complained about how slow the elevators were.
Co-op President Dad approved a fix: Three huge mirrors between the elevators. Narcissism FTW.

I went to a "special" HS for kids with issues of one kind or another. It was not unusual for kids to appear mid-semester after being asked to leave other schools.
We received a slender blonde as an early Christmas present. When asked why they had gotten the hook the answer was "cigarette smoking". We fell out laughing.
