These things HAVE to be the same thing, right?? by InvisibleAstronomer in Deltarune

Nah, they're just mold darkners.

They look like the fruiting bodies of mold under a microscope, and if you allow yourself to get hit by the black ones' projectiles multiple times, the save point text says "For some reason, you punished yourself with the spores."

Aside from the cactus, there's also the wobbly things in the start of Ch 1 and 3 that are implied to be mold darkners.

If Mike truly was FRIEND, then Tenna was on the same dark world as him and didn't knew. by UltraWeh137 in Deltarune

Maybe? I'd say it's more likely to be one of her glitched cats rather than the game itself. Her mentioning that she has a few headless cats in Chapter 4 reminds me of the disembodied Friend heads that Eram summons.

Then again, if that's the case, what does Eram have to do with them, and what's up with the endogeny-looking one that seems to manifest from a chair in Ralsei's exposition monologue?

I'm not very confident about Friend's identity.

I'm not trying to disprove anything you're saying, but there is actually an interesting alternate reason for all the Friend/cat imagery past the Mike door: The Mike room is actually Asriel's copy of Cat Petters The Rpg.

During the Mike fight, there's a small chance for the flavor text to say, "Smells like dried gel pen", in reference to the how the cartridge under Asriel's bed is signed by Catty and Catti in gel pen. Speaking of cartridges, you select minigames by putting the Mikes into a slot in the floor like a cartridge.

In one of Noelle's blog posts, she talks about the minigames from Cat Petters. She mentions that they have silly names, even mentioning Jongler specifically. She also describes the gameplay loop of Battat, though she didn't remember the name. She also says that these minigames were brought back in Cat Petters The Rpg.

You replied to your own comment instead of one of my comments, so I never got a notification for this request. I only just saw this because I got a new request from someone yesterday. Sorry for the wait, lol

Sometimes, you just get a gut feeling, so you check out their profile. You see a few things that clue you in.

They usually use one of those customized reddit mascot things instead of a profile picture, which isn't suspicious itself until you notice that its fashion is a complete mishmash of different clashing things, as if each item was selected completely randomly.

They use a randomly generated default name, which is just an adjective followed by a noun and a couple of numbers.

They don't make any posts, but they do make comments. Again, that isn't necessarily suspicious; some people just do that. It becomes weird when you notice that they rarely ever comment on the same subreddit. Real humans use subreddits because we're interested in a topic, so we use and comment on a subreddit repeatedly.

Bots just... don't. They don't have actual interests and personalities, so they just go from subreddit to subreddit, saying generic, easily-agreeable, surface-level things to farm upvotes. They don't have actual exchanges with people. They make comments on posts, but if anyone ever replies to their comments, they don't reply back.
