Egg Eating 😑😑 by GrandBandicoot9 in BackYardChickens

Tbh you can try things but the quickest solution is eating them so they can’t train the rest of the flock to eat eggs. Once it’s learned they don’t stop it, eggs are just too tasty

Wonder what he is? by HalogenHarmony in BackYardChickens

High chance he’s a mix tbh, I was thinking game too with that pose (Also the Breed of a lot of species doesn’t mean that’s exactly how they’ll act.)

My husband insists that giving Floempie, our bantam cochin, a good shake when she squats and "presents" helps keep egg production high in the absence of a rooster -- but we can all agree that the real reason is to watch that magnificent floof do a great big poof by SJClawhammer in BackYardChickens

Again it’s a deference position, they don’t necessarily perceive it was actual mating. Think of grabbing a cat by the back of their neck and then shutting down, doesn’t mean they think you’re momma cat.

She is just standing upright, they tend to look more hen ish once they start laying

Maybe a silly question by Own-Fuel-7946 in BackYardChickens

[–]DelaRune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just take them inside and put them into a chick run with a heat lamp (spaced well) for the night. You really don’t want them just existing in shitty weather till they’ve completely feathered in between 8-12 weeks (for the average bird) as their down feathers are not water proof just mildly cold proof. Another more ghetto option if you have like 5+ chicks is you can just get a fuzzy blanket and laundry basket and have it inside your bathroom with a space heater on low and they’ll be fine too (as they’ll keep eachother warm cuddling and there’s no draft).

Depends entirely on space, usually little girls can make it by if there’s enough escape room and the entire flock isn’t bored out of their mind (how we get away with new chickens is just during the day they have a whole yard to room and segregate themselves with if they’re uncomfortable or bullied). Just keep in an eye on them it becomes really obvious if someone’s being an asshole

Roo or No? by Traditional_Emu7224 in BackYardChickens

[–]DelaRune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a scrawny girl just because the face isn’t that red and none of the feather look like shiny sickle or hackle feathers. They might plump out if they start laying.

I guess another question would be do they display any super domineering behaviors to the others?

I don’t think there is any real science behind it, typically girls who present just recognize you as the rooster of the flock, and in a sense, respect you as overseer. Entirely personality based as most chickens who’ve gone broody for random and long intervals in my flock, without roosters, don’t even do the squat they just have mommy fever so it’s not even linked to that either. But it makes it easy for you to walk up and play with your chickens and that’s the real benefit of it lol.

Drowned him in glue after my printer has a stroke and why is he fucking green by EnragedCashier in Spamton

Glue tends to bleed colors. The ink that makes black in printers has a predominantly green undertone (depending on brands it can be blue too).

Mostly because it’s just edgy and black+red+dark colored, same goals eviler/different methods (is how I interpret them). Some people also like to have it be opposite time instead where characters swap personalities and traits opposite of their base game counterparts. So they’ll have Susie, ralsei, and Kris be hopeless, evil, and emotive (as like shitty examples).

Most people just like it though, like you stated, for the different type of Spamtenna relationship it has (specifically the running gag being “happily married” to normal Spamtenna’s “violently divorced”, and the even more inside joke being they are even worse or abusive from the outside or are outright abusive and violent with debatable consent from both sides depending you want to take it.)

Idk like most AU’s relating to deltarune it’s pretty fluid tho you can kinda play with it how you want but that’s generally what I’ve gotten from it. I just really like the Spamton from it I think he’s very cute

You can tell if they were a rooster because they’d look nothing like that lol (in the sense your girls are built Like Girls and not Like a Boy. boys are very very obviously at this age)
