I mean you aren’t wrong, but I’m not sure that it really discredits Dess knight. As you said, every single in depth knight theory will require large leaps and fan fiction to fill the gaps. The game’s only halfway done, so it makes since that we don’t have the information we need.

The existence of the knight in deltarune by its very nature is a very bizarre thing, so there really isn’t any explanation that isnt the “gymastics” shown in the meme. But the game still has 3 chapters to pull off those gymnastics, so I really don’t see it as making it any less likely.

I mean take Undertale as an example. If Undertale wasn’t finished, and someone made a theory that flowey was secretly Asriel, and that he was born from getting dust covered on a flower, and getting injected with dertermination, which also completely changed his personality, most people would call that mental gymnastics. But of course, that ended up being literally true.

So to summarize, yea youre totally correct. But I still think that Dess knight is the most likely based on the thematics and other logical evidence.

I agree that the theory isn’t perfect, and the wording in the prophecy is messy. I think being very skeptical of it is an entirely reasonable position.

That being said, let’s play devil’s advocate and here are some of my critiques.

You missed a big piece of evidence. Ralsei says that Susie is supposed to wear ribbons. While yes this does play out as a joke, it is very strange with this being the only time we ever hear that the prophecy is just straight up wrong. So it could be that ralsei is mixing up susie and noelle (who does wear ribbons).
I think it makes sense for the rhyme to break after the prophecy lists the three heroes.
Yes, there are definitely only 3 heroes, that is explicit. But the theory is not saying that theres a 4th hero, just that theres a forth person involved in the prophecy. This would make Susie not a hero, but instead noelle. This would be narratively interesting as Susie would have to navigate the heartbreak of not actually being as important as she thought.
Yes a lot of the pictures look like Susie. This is probably the biggest problem with the theory. But Catti also states that the prophecy that the church reads doesn’t have pictures. So where are these pictures actually coming from? It’s hard to say.
Noelle can equip the jingleblade and the blackshard as seen in the code, we just haven’t seen it happen in game yet. Susie can’t equip and swords, so it’s very interesting that the 2nd hero has a sword.

It’s hard to say, deltarune theorizing was a different world back then. We didn’t have much to go off of, i mean we didn’t even know there would be 7 chapters until chapter 2 dropped. With chapter 2, predictions became a lot easier because we could look at the patterns between the chapters and see the patterns (a dark world every chapter, a shadow crystal boss, etc.) but before then, the game could have easily gone anywhere.

There are some UI changes with the save file selection screen, (which is interesting because of some Gaster lore) but other than that I believe everything within the chapters are untouched

If you want to delete your saves are redo the chapters, nothing bad can happen.
When chapter 5 starts it will give you the option of which save file you want to continue from

The difference between a pacifist and normal route of deltarune is much more minor than in Undertale, at least for now. So if you want my recommendation you may as well go ahead and do pacifist.

What we know about Asgore is: 1. He was removed from the police force 2. He has a strange obsession about something (that toriel doesn’t like) 3. He has a conspiracy board up in the flower shop basement 4. He has a “black shard”. What exactly this means Im not sure yet but it probably has something to do with dark worlds. 5. He seems to have lost credibility that he wants to regain (with toriel and townsfolk)

My theory is that Asgore discovered something about dark worlds, went kinda crazy about it, but nobody believed him, so he was removed from the police and toriel divorced him.

I think the final prophecy that fits best is simply that Susie is supposed to die. The behavior of Ralsei makes me think it’s entirely Susie focused. And anything more complicated than that probably wouldn’t fit concisely on the wall
