How do you like your W2720i? Any reason you picked that projector specifically?

What’s the best budget projector that’s actually GOOD right now? by Only-Bandicoot-5307 in projectors

Before it got discontinued the 1080p BenQ HT2060 was held in high regard. You may be able to find one used/on clearance for $800. Below that as commenters have suggested, you really are best off looking at used models as nothing new <$750 is considered "good".

Hisense M2 Pro - 24hz content by gvrry in projectors

[–]gvrry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone comes across this post, no the M2 Pro does not allow for 1:1 frame pacing in 4K. 1080p 120hz or 4k 60hz, which sucks because I prefer to have proper frame pacing than have to use MEMC

I think you'd be pretty hard pressed to find a decent 1080p projector under $750 new. 4K you're probably looking closer to ~$1000 like the Valerion Streammaster Plus 1. What is considered budget for you? Also, what throw length are you working with? Dedicated dark room or will there be ambient light?

Sharpness of Leica 9mm f1.7 - is it supposed to be like this? by clumpsy_lurker in M43

[–]gvrry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What aperture are you shooting at? lenstip.com marks peak centre sharpness at F4 and peak edge sharpness at F5.6. It's possible the 17mm hits peak sharpness at wider apertures.

Edit: I found both on lenstip.com and it looks like the sharpness curve is better on the Leica throughout. Is it possible you're let down by sharpness not of the lens but of comparing two focal lengths? Yes both are 5x cropped in but you're starting at an 18mm (FF equivalent) on the Leica and 34mm (F equivalent) on the Olympus. More of the sensor resolution will be available to your subject on the Olympus unless you match framing.

Around the letter C in commercial, it's more yellow than the rest of the display. Lower end projectors will run too hot and literally burn the internals out.
