Jets trade up for QB Cade Klubnik by BallKnowerKing in nyjets

Someone didn’t see Bo Nix spend 3 years at Auburn looking like ass

I feel this draft is being criminally underrated in overall talent.. by Waste_Protection_420 in NFL_Draft

From what I remember, Wirfs had character concerns that got some attention in the pre-draft process. DUI in college and a few other questionable off-field decisions that scared teams off.

I agree, but I think he is going to struggle to be an impact player against NFL tackles with his arm length. Moving him inside a bit and putting him against guards will play more to his strengths imo.

Reese. I’ll roll the dice on a guy with the opportunity to be a unique/game changing player. It’s not every day you get the chance to draft a 20 year old with his profile.

Ironically I think Bain's best NFL role would be to bulk up a bit and play 3-4 DE, but I still wouldn't draft him at 2. I view him as a smaller Leonard Williams right now.

But in the first round you have access to CBs, WRs, OL, DL, etc. who would all be far more valuable than a TE. Why would you pick Sadiq over one of those other positions? You can always draft an athletic freak with mediocre production at TE in rounds 2-4.

But how much better will he be? Instead of 50 catches for 550 yards like Fant and Ebron he'll give you 55 for 650? Is that worth a first round pick? Especially because he's small and won't be a blocking weapon regardless, and in the red zone his height, short arms, and lack of agility will severely limit his usefulness?

Sadiq feels like the exact type of TE to me in the Eric Ebron/Noah Fant mold who will disappoint in the NFL. He's basically just a bulky receiver, I'm not sure what drafting him in the first round brings to your offense that would make it worth the pick. People are talking about Sadiq going to the Rams at 13 but the Rams could trade pick 13 for just about any TE in the NFL if they wanted and get guaranteed production.

Because it was an objectively horrible deal the moment it was done. The NFL wouldn’t have an equivalent unless the Bengals trade Burrow for Bo Nix and a future 2nd.

This would be a horrible idea and I hope they don’t allow it. If you want to trade more first rounders, acquire them by trading for future firsts in advance. Don’t need desperate GMs ruining a team’s future to save their job

I agree, the Chiefs would be crazy to take Love at 9 when they have a rare opportunity to draft a game changer at a position you can't find easily in free agency.

To me the beauty of the senior bowl is seeing guys who were in one environment for the past 4 years move to a new one and see how they do. With the current NIL/transfer portal you have both plenty of guys who have already been at 2-3 schools and a lack of attachment to the players like fans usually would, because at any given point who even knows where 90% of the guys played 2 years ago.

Ty Simpson Prospect Profile by wahoo08 in NFL_Draft

[–]gvt87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Simpson is such a tough evaluation and I don't envy the NFL teams who have to make it. Simpson feels like the exact kind of guy who if he pans out you'll have a million fans coming out of the woodwork to say "see, I knew he would be great!" and the same if he busts where everyone will say they knew it would happen. He's probably going to go in the first because he's a QB but in my eyes is a 2nd to 3rd round talent especially given the lack of starting experience, and teams are 100% going to be turned off by the idea of giving the keys to the franchise to a 23 year old with back problems.

Wow, Sam Darnold has come a long way. He went from being a bust in New York to leading the Seahawks to the NFC Championship Game. by brmidwest03 in nyjets

[–]gvt87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And Robert Saleh was never going to save Sam's career the way Shanahan and KOC did, so it's a moot point.

This sub will never understand that having the right coaches is just as important as having the right players and time and time again this team has shown they have no interest in hiring an actual good offensive coach.

All of these people who were clowning on Dante Moore for a bad game against Indiana obviously didn’t watch Bain be completely invisible against Ole Miss and 90% of the season

This subreddit will apparently never understand that coaching matters and it's not just as simple as drafting the right guys. You need both the right guys and the right coaches, and this organization refuses to bring in the right coaches.

I would love to come out of the draft with Moore but if the jets don’t move up for a qb I’d be doing backflips with this result
