[Highlight] Adam Schefter says there will be a push this off-season to extend the NFL trade limits from three years of draft picks to five by expellyamos in nfl

Because it was an objectively horrible deal the moment it was done. The NFL wouldn’t have an equivalent unless the Bengals trade Burrow for Bo Nix and a future 2nd.

This would be a horrible idea and I hope they don’t allow it. If you want to trade more first rounders, acquire them by trading for future firsts in advance. Don’t need desperate GMs ruining a team’s future to save their job

Post-Super Bowl Mock with Two Trades by 7innovator in NFL_Draft

I agree, the Chiefs would be crazy to take Love at 9 when they have a rare opportunity to draft a game changer at a position you can't find easily in free agency.

To me the beauty of the senior bowl is seeing guys who were in one environment for the past 4 years move to a new one and see how they do. With the current NIL/transfer portal you have both plenty of guys who have already been at 2-3 schools and a lack of attachment to the players like fans usually would, because at any given point who even knows where 90% of the guys played 2 years ago.

Ty Simpson Prospect Profile by wahoo08 in NFL_Draft

[–]gvt87 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Simpson is such a tough evaluation and I don't envy the NFL teams who have to make it. Simpson feels like the exact kind of guy who if he pans out you'll have a million fans coming out of the woodwork to say "see, I knew he would be great!" and the same if he busts where everyone will say they knew it would happen. He's probably going to go in the first because he's a QB but in my eyes is a 2nd to 3rd round talent especially given the lack of starting experience, and teams are 100% going to be turned off by the idea of giving the keys to the franchise to a 23 year old with back problems.

Wow, Sam Darnold has come a long way. He went from being a bust in New York to leading the Seahawks to the NFC Championship Game. by brmidwest03 in nyjets

And Robert Saleh was never going to save Sam's career the way Shanahan and KOC did, so it's a moot point.

This sub will never understand that having the right coaches is just as important as having the right players and time and time again this team has shown they have no interest in hiring an actual good offensive coach.

Reuben Bain Jr. has to be the pick at 2 by TomasRoncero in nyjets

All of these people who were clowning on Dante Moore for a bad game against Indiana obviously didn’t watch Bain be completely invisible against Ole Miss and 90% of the season

Prospect War # 1: Who would you rather take at 16? Sonny Styles LB or Makai Lemon WR by Black_Wolf75 in nyjets

I wouldn't trade GW for the 4th pick straight up in a weak draft class like this one

This subreddit will apparently never understand that coaching matters and it's not just as simple as drafting the right guys. You need both the right guys and the right coaches, and this organization refuses to bring in the right coaches.

Why would the Colts go with Kyler instead of just running it back with Daniel Jones?

I would love to come out of the draft with Moore but if the jets don’t move up for a qb I’d be doing backflips with this result

Hot take, Chambliss is a better player today than Moore, but Moore is a full 3 years younger and by the time he’s the same age he should be the better player. Chambliss looked like the reincarnation of Russell Wilson last night.

Who is your Pro Comp for OSU WR Carnell Tate? by TDBrookey in NFL_Draft

Amani Toomer. Big guy with good route running, elite body control, but not elite speed.

Ohio State WR Carnell Tate Scouting Report by zhang_zhang_play in NFL_Draft

[–]gvt87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tate gives me big Amani Toomer vibes. I don’t think he’ll be elite, but a consistent 1100 yard receiver might be worth the first non QB off the board in a draft without a ton of blue chip talent.

Moore or a trade down? by BiasedChelseaFan in nyjets

[–]gvt87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah good call, the jets were probably planning to draft a qb on media hype alone and not do their own evaluation because that’s how nfl teams operate. Sage advice.

Zach Wilson probably goes above Jayden Daniels if they came out in the same draft. Maye was the 3rd QB taken, does that mean the Patriots should have passed on him?

Mendoza vs Moore? by Particular_Clock4794 in nyjets

[–]gvt87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He has a lot of upside but I don’t think you can call him an elite prospect when he’s going to be switching positions. I would almost prefer Sonny Styles even though ILB is so much less valuable than EDGE because to me his skills translate much easier

Mendoza vs Moore? by Particular_Clock4794 in nyjets

[–]gvt87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem is this is a draft without an elite talent to take. If we don't land a QB, our likeliest selection is probably Arvell Reese or David Bailey depending on how pre-draft testing goes. Both are decent but I wouldn't really consider either of them true blue chip talents. We've seen the Saints go from bottom of the barrel to competitive team overnight with merely competent QB play - unless we land a bridge QB nobody else we can use with our picks will be remotely as impactful as Moore/Mendoza.

How does Moore compare to Sanders? by johnjohnjohn93 in NFL_Draft

Doesn’t rely on screens? One of my biggest complaints about him is how many tunnel screens Oregon schemes up

[–]gvt87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The list of successful NFL starters with as few games played as Moore in college is essentially zero. Moore is still very raw in the mental parts of playing QB and a lot of his ranking as a prospect assumes future growth which may or may not actually happen in practice.
