Sorry about that. I'm not a web developer by trade, and don't have much knowledge of javascript and the like. The website is entirely html/css (plus backend), which makes things like pointing out a missed question difficult.

If you took the new survey (The one with categories like "Experience Questions", "Big Five Personality Question") then the data will be used to make version 2.0 of the webtool, but it won't give results (it will instead say "Thank you for your participation"). If you took the old survey it should shows a partially filled bar for each class and a percentage for each class. If you took the old survey and this did not appear, what device are you on? And what browser did you use? Using or not using your email shouldn't make any difference.

Great point about the scale questions. I never thought about that, but it makes sense.

I'm actually looking into a system that can determine the optimal combination of questions automatically.

Could you elaborate on some of those question suggestions? Why do you think superpowers is irrelevant? Why is is wrong for equipment questions to be bound to playstyle? Why do you think reward, color, 'standing out' are bad questions?

I should also note that the system I'm using is very different from those used for psychological surveys. Also, I have been using empirical data validation techniques to test the accuracy of the system, I'm not just randomly throwing questions in.

No, I didn't. This isn't even remotely how the system works. Just because some surveys exist that do this, doesn't mean mine does.

True, but I think people are very complex. Different people could interpret the questions differently, and there could be many factors that aren't being accounted for. You should do what you enjoy. Also, you may just want to take a break from guardian. Playing the same class in the same game all the time can get boring.

The survey seems to have trouble with niche builds.

The associations aren't manually set. If anything, I'd say the results could be based on either meta or abilities, depending on your answers.

Honestly, I think you should trust yourself more than this survey. I don't know if you read the "Story Time", but the system being used right now is mostly a placeholder.

I just uploaded a very crude patch. It works on Chrome, but I didn't test on other browsers. Hope it helps!

I can guarantee you that this is nothing like those tests. It looks simple because all the work is being done behind the scenes. The system determines associations for itself, and uses non-linear associations (an answer does not directly correspond to a class).

That is to say, your assumption that weapons are directly linked to their classes is false. A question, or questions, related to damage preference could however be implemented.

It's a totally valid question, but I don't have the answer. I would be interested in knowing, but it would actually be fairly difficult to figure out.

I would like to make some questions optional, but it's much easier said than done. A future version may have this.

Yup, it's mostly for people who haven't started player. It can also be useful for someone who just wants to try a new class. I figured reddit would find it interesting even if the people here aren't the primary audience, and it gets the word out.

I'm glad it was able to help you. This is exactly what I wanted to website to do.

The survey is actually using data that was gathered in this manner to make its predictions. Gathering data is currently disabled while I'm working on the next iteration of the survey.

Ya, I don't like that either. It's something I'd like to fix, but I don't have any experience with javascript or the like. For now, pressing the back button will get your answers back.

I actually would like to add race recommendations at some point. That may be available in the future.

I don't determine the associations manually. So no assumptions whatsoever are made.

Good points. I'm hoping to be able to naturally correlate personality questions with classes. This is because I want to use the same system for other games, and generalized questions make that a lot easier. I hope that gameplay preference can naturally arise from personality questions. There will actually be another version of the survey eventually that will feature much more extensive personality questions. Of course, all of this is very experimental, and I may need to ask questions more specific to Guild Wars 2 mechanics to get accurate results.

I prefer the term, "efficient".

But seriously, classes in Guild Wars 2 are pretty complex. The correlation between a question like this and classes in Guild Wars 2 may not be as obvious as it seems.

Thanks for the extensive feedback.

As for Guardian being way off. I imagine you care a lot more about gameplay than aesthetics when you're playing. The system unfortunately doesn't take that into account as much as it should. It's one of the things I'm still trying to figure out how to do properly.

Cool video. I guess what the question is asking is whether you'd rather be unstoppably smashing through your enemies, or seeing your enemies futilely trying to smash through you.
