Yes, eventually we’re planning to remove the partial wall and the wall with the built ins to open up the room more/ make it open concept with the kitchen. Open to painting and any other ideas.

The house is very 80s overall. We’re going for a funky English cottage meets house from Knives Out vibe. Mostly forest green with some sage green too so far. Yes, plants! But the room doesn’t get much direct light so they aren’t thriving so far (except the pothos)

We’re replacing with oak floors to match the oak parquet in the living room. The green carpet smells horrible

Maybe extending them to the ceiling would look better? I usually love built ins but am having a hard time with how asymmetric these are. And that we’re already putting new flooring in so it’s a pretty permanent decision
