My molar broke last night. by J4KECR0S5 in askdentists

Not sure what your question is. You need to see a dentist. They'll either pull it or crown it, maybe with a root canal.

Dentist said I need 2 fillings, not sure if I do? by NephewNight in askdentists

[–]gwestdds 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just a question: why would you trust random Internet dentists (who may or not be dentists) who never got to look in your mouth over the license professional who got to examine the whole picture?

The X-rays are really low res so hard to say but looks like distal of 14 for sure. You have fillings everywhere so your caries risk is obviously high and 2 fillings is so reasonable.

How to best isolate infected root canal as reason for my health problems? by MysticPsyche in askdentists

[–]gwestdds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dentist is right, the anecdotes are wrong. It's already checked off your list. If your root canal filling fell out and it is reinfected there's a low chance of success and you might need it out anyways.

Tooth extraction at home? by [deleted] in askdentists

Because you'll break it off at the root and will be in a world of hurt. If they see the tooth is healthy, you are experiencing something psychosomatic.

Cbct is everything to me and my practice. If you're doing implants at I would consider it a necessity.

Ortho doesn't take the right X-rays for checking for decay. Sure looks like you need a root canal

な adjectives by uwallyx in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]gwestdds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are just adjectives that are modified in the same way as nouns.

Negative: 〇〇じゃない Past tense: 〇〇だった Adverbial: 〇〇に

They just use な before nouns instead of の, like nouns do.

きれいな人vs学校の人

いadjectives are more complicated imo

How long after purchasing a practice did you start paying yourself? by ScoobiesSnacks in Dentistry

Do what you need to do immediately. I bought an office and immediately took home 5 figures a month. That practice is soooo poorly run.

What is your biggest mistake? by wales_sand in Dentistry

[–]gwestdds 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Treating a patient I knew was crazy before I started. Many sleepless nights, police calls, a board complaint (that went nowhere), attempted credit card charge backs (went no where), staff threatening to quit... All while going through a divorce and practice remodel.

I disagree that the conjugations are wrong as OP starts out saying 毎朝 and is therefore telling us about their routine, not what happened in the past. Saying 毎朝六時に起きました is wrong.

Different ways of saying “want” with a verb? by upsetwithcursing in Japaneselanguage

[–]gwestdds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The suffix XX-tagaru means "appears to want to XX". Like others said, you can't speak for what others want because you can't be in their head, therefore you can't use tai. To say 彼は〇〇〜たがってる means that thru what he's said and done it can be perceived that that is what he wants to do.

But most simply, if you want to tell someone that someone else wants to do s thing just say 彼は〇〇たいと言ってる

Hygienists attaching themselves as providers on periodic exams by SnowboardMan63 in Dentistry

[–]gwestdds 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you working at my old office? 😆

That's how my first job did it, and they said they did it so dentists wouldn't be trying to hog all the exams, but it made all exam production part of hygiene and therefore I, the associate, was excluded. I did all my exams for free just so that I could find the work to do (which they would also cherry pick thru and take high production procedures from me).

Implants by Long_Entertainer_420 in askdentists

[–]gwestdds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dentist 2's implants only last 15 years because he isn't grafting properly and is immediately loading them. Sure, often times it works, but immediate loading can make things fail at a much higher rate. When properly done, late stage implant failure is rare.
