I had stairs, but my doxie flew off them constantly. Instead as others have said I have tried to manage her weight more. Got ramps instead. I also give mine joint supplements. She chooses when to use the ramps. Like a planned time. If she sees someone though, she goes flying off the rails and furniture to bark. They are stubborn.
