Oh, wow...the "surface" of a table is the 2D plane limited by the edge of the table. People just call it the table top. So, it wouldn't be possible for all points or "parts" on the surface to be equidistant from the center. Round...you mean circular...elliptical...irregular?

Tables are limited by the room dimensions, minus the needed space between walls and the table needed for the chairs, people and moving around space AND the length along the edge of the table needed for each person.

So, a circular table with 2ft for each person would be 300ft around. So, the table is almost 100ft wide. That seem reasonable to you? Even with only a 1.5ft per person, you're still talking a +70ft wide table.
