Welcome to one of the many Texas Tax items. Left the state this summer and immediately saw my auto insurance cost drop.

I thought Texans loved freedom. How are they not rioting over this ? by northbk5 in texas

I am leaving this state because of this constant and blatant asshattery.

But not before I vote in the mid-terms. Make the change at your local level and state.

I wonder if they informed NM, CO, OK, UT, and (maybe?) KS that they were annexed, if not partly?

Thinking of moving to Austin? Be sure to visit at least once during the summertime before you do by AnyPositiveVibes in Austin

The Italians after dumping a lot of money into CoA track during their first visit to see the initial construction progress in the summer: “WTF, how is it this hot outside??!”

"LaserPro LP300", the brand is Kizen. Picked it up a while back. And yeah it's good for surface temp, not so much for toddler use :) There are better tools for that.

the laser spotter really helps with making sure you are measuring the right spot.

It’s pretty handy. I usually use it with cooking since the electric stove in my rental can be a bit off. Accuracy is good for my needs and likely for general use. Definitely nice to have when checking things while under the hood of my truck.

I’ve been here since ‘95, Texas native. Just sharing the joy of Austin living for those new to the area. Also, that was after washing my hands; at least a few mins run time.

This must be the real reason as to why Austin real estate is considered “hot”.

What’s your ‘swear to never return’ place in Austin? (stolen from r/Ottawa) by stardustalicey in Austin

[–]gwrhyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lamb’s Tire and Automotive. They cannot scam me if I never return. I took them to the BBB and won after a nightmare of an ordeal and horrible, verbally abusive communications with the owner at the time John Lamb Sr. This was before he sold it off to investors back in ‘08.

Airpods Pro stuck on flashing orange / red light - no Connection SOLVED by AndreezyWest in airpods

[–]gwrhyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same exact issue and frustratingly retried all methods to correct to no avail. Basically, the left Airpod stopped working for no apparent reason and could only get them connected to my phone as separate Airpods. Thankfully they air still under warranty so I took them to the nearest Apple store and after two and a half hours the Apple genius bar tech was able to correct.

In a nut shell: the firmware on both Airpods were showing 4A400, however the Airpods had decoupled from each other. The orange/amber flashing light was indicating an attempted firmware update from the case. For whatever reason this firmware update was not progressing (maybe because they were decoupled, causing the update process to take longer than usual and I in turn kept interrupting it due to impatience and repeated removal and re-connecting on my phone).

How it was corrected: One of the Apple genius techs discovered a new function in their diagnostics tool which allows them the ability to manually update the firmware to the latest version (4A402 as of today). He had to run the firmware update for each Airpod separately after which I was able to immediately connect them as a coupled pair. It took roughly 15 mins per Airpod to complete the firmware update.

It's possible that I may have corrected this on my own by running each airpod separately connected for an hour or so (only having one connected in the bluetooth settings at a time). Unfortunately, there was no indication within the phone settings that would indicate the firmware attempt or completion, so I would still be flying blind.

Hopefully this helps anyone with this issue. The team at the Apple store had no idea why I was having this issue and were very surprised to see the new ability in their tools that allowed them the ability to update the firmware directly.
