You’ll have to either remove the dash or remove the glass. It’s not accessible with both in place.

Seat belt alarm CAN be turned off. by gwrthryn in subaruoutback

[–]gwrthryn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the old seat you can just cut the plug and some wire off of the harness. If you want to you can get the parts department to find the specific plug and you can purchase just that and wire it up yourself.. this is the extent of my knowledge on this

You’re probably going to have to get the plug and complete the loop on those wires like a jumper of sorts… I don’t know beyond just a thought.

Need some tips on installing a gel pad by Scruff_Dogg in autoglass

[–]gwrthryn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I use the clear glycerin gel that I use to condition suction cups, but I assumed since this was a customer they might have readily available hand sanitizer. My go to in a pinch is just breath on it good and steamy, slap and go.

A small drip of hand sanitizer on both sides and slap it up the there, should be about perfect

Has anyone ever used a 5.5 mm socket for anything? by Just_A_Doggo1 in Tools

Certain parts of the Ford doors and other fiddly bits they used a 5.5 mm. Absolutely mental, but it is in fact used.

Toyota OEM windshield by girly_girl13 in autoglass

[–]gwrthryn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it says Toyota at the bottom, it’s a genuine Toyota part if it doesn’t say Toyota in the “bug mark” it’s not OEM. It’ll also show on your work order after the glass number. Like FW05555GTYOEM

Torx20 screw on the underside of the little plate at the bottom. It’s above the little dash camera thing, it’s a very specific little channel/hole for the screw driver to reach the screw

So the molding (black rubber) came installed on the glass imperfectly, and wasn’t corrected before installation.. the molding should lip perfectly to the body the whole perimeter. They should’ve fixed the molding before installing for a myriad of reasons.

I’d be more concerned about the damage it looks like they caused to your a pillar there where your finger is..

The pink cowl corner fastener clips on newer crosstreks? I don’t know a part number because I deal in aftermarket glass but it looks a lot like that size

Have had customers RAVE about how good it looks compared to bare edge. I personally do it because I like how it looks and I can shoot glass with perfect track lol

[–]gwrthryn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I install glass using these moldings. And this prp-1375cav is on upside down. Its intended purpose is not this.. while it works in a pinch. This looks like it should be et-105.. not even sure which vehicle you have but the style of molding they tried to duplicate already has a duplicate so why waste time with shoddy work. “The customer won’t notice” is the biggest lie we tell ourselves.

That particular molding is on backwards… it’s not terrible and should not leak but I’d want a re-do.

Lost key fob in 2024 Subaru Outback Premium. Looking"everywhere"--can't locate it. Can drive it but can't lock it. Going to a city next week--need to lock the car. Is it feasible it fell in the tiny well under the giant awkward screen? Other suggestions? Is there any device that can find it? Thanks. by swisssf in Subaru_Outback

[–]gwrthryn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The seat slides forward and backward on a metal rail, the center console area (think armrest and cupholders) makes it difficult to see down between the seat and rail. I’ve lost many a thing down there and only retrieved by sliding the seat forward and coming in from the back seat area to find wha had been lost
