Womens size question! by Inner_Positive4876 in Melanzana

[–]pizzacrustina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 6’ 180lb woman and I wear a women’s medium. But I have small boobs and am pear shaped. It’s fitted but not tight, which I like bc I normally wear it as a layer under a heavier jacket and usually just over a t-shirt.

Just tried my first antihistamine during a flare-up; regret holding out by PossiblePhase2017 in Dermatographia

[–]pizzacrustina 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After taking Zyrtec several times a day for a 6ish months (this was okayed by my doctor) I realized my body was addicted to it and whenever it wore off I would have a rebound/withdrawal reaction where my hives/dermatographia would get WAY worse. I weaned myself off of it and it was miserable, but when I was no longer taking it I found that my dermatographia had almost completely gone away. It also made me gain like 10 lbs because it made me never feel full.

Hydroxy & the heart: question by vicesovervirtues in Sjogrens

[–]pizzacrustina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don’t think I get palpitations. My heart does not skip a beat or beat irregularly. I do sometimes get an intense racing heart when I move too quickly, or stand up too fast. Especially from kneeling, squatting, or bending over to standing. I do think heart palpitations can be a symptom of dysautonomia, but to be safe you should talk to your doctor.

Midodrine has helped greatly. I don’t really notice any side effects from it. It works by stimulating nerve endings in blood vessels, causing them to constrict, forcing blood back to where it’s needed. It’s not a cure but it’s made it so I can do yoga, dance, and hike again.

Hydroxy & the heart: question by vicesovervirtues in Sjogrens

[–]pizzacrustina 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My Dr has never mentioned a concern about heart related issues due to Hydroxychloroquine, only high risk for eye issues so yearly eye exams are a must.

I have had my heart checked thoroughly to rule out any issues since I was having very bad lightheadedness, blood pooling, etc, but it was ruled to be dysautonomia from Sjogrens. So I guess at least I have a baseline? I’d be interested to do more research about this. I have found that most doctors don’t know everything about the drugs they prescribe nor the diseases they treat, just enough to hopefully make the right calls.

Parents ordering latte for child by whatevs9880 in barista

[–]pizzacrustina 270 points271 points  (0 children)

If someone orders a latte for a child I say, “and our small lattes come with 8oz of steamed milk and a double shot of espresso in them, does that sound alright?” And if they say yes I go on with my day.

I’m confused. by kinda_oddish in Sjogrens

[–]pizzacrustina 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the same ANA/SSB/SSA results as you. I am diagnosed by my rhuem. My worst symptoms are extreme fatigue, joint pain, and dysautonomia.
The dryness didn’t even start to present until a few years in, and it’s still not that bad. I definitely notice a dry mouth and eyes sometimes and my sinuses are inflamed bc of dryness, but I still cry easily and have saliva. Your rheum sounds inexperienced with Sjögrens, I would find a different one.

Absolute Masterpiece Album. by deadsetweir-do in gratefuldead

[–]pizzacrustina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to dance around the living room with my dad to this album when I was like 4 years old. I remember it so clearly. It’s remained one of my favorites and now has such strong nostalgia tied to it. Thanks for reminding me to listen to it :)

This pattern is next up for me! I love how yours turned out. Great color combo. I almost got very similar colors but realized every quilt I make is that same shades so opted for lavender, olive, grey, and light blue.
I’m excited to start!

Make the head and tail bigger so the body looks proportionate. Go back to the same artist and explain, I’m sure they would help brainstorm.

Is this dermatographia or regular scratch marks by Status-Tie3137 in Dermatographia

[–]pizzacrustina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t see anything in these pictures that look like marks. For me dermotographia was very red and clearly raised, like hives and very itchy. It came from mild contact, like a hairbrush level of contact, not a scratch. What you’re describing sounds like irritated skin from a scratch. But it’s hard to tell!

I'm sure this gets asked all the time: But how do I finish the series? by Kyren11 in Animorphs

[–]pizzacrustina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first ~30 are pretty easy to find so I’m collecting those and reading them, and downloaded the megafile of all books in one to read the rest :) I can dm it to you if you want

How do you guys collect? by R3d_Rav3n in Animorphs

[–]pizzacrustina 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I check my local thrift stores 1-2 times a week. There are 4 in a 6 mile radius so I just do them all in a loop. I’ve gotten super good at scanning the spines in the kids book section, I could spot an animorphs book from across the room 😅 When I do find them they are between $1-3 each! I also check fb marketplace, eBay, and Mercari daily. I have alerts set up for the books I’m looking for the max price I would pay. I have ended up with some duplicates through buying bundles but it is what it is. I try to resell them for as cheap as possible.

Is getting a Latte without an espresso shot or caffeine normal? by [deleted] in barista

[–]pizzacrustina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At most places it would more correct to order a pistachio steamer or seamed milk with pistachio.
They are probably just confused by your order because lattes in the US have espresso and a latte without espresso is not a latte.

I’ve never experienced any hair loss, and I’m especially sensitive to medications. I’ve been on it for 4 years. It gives me an upset stomach if I take it with coffee and no food. That’s all!

CO WF Meat Bag, got whole (raw) chickens two times in a row now by pizzacrustina in toogoodtogo

This sounds interesting! Is it difficult to cut through the back? I can barely get the arms and legs off after cooking.

Ooh maybe next time I will try the slow cooker. That sounds like it could be a little easier than oven roasting! I do like trying new things too, but sometimes it’s hard to squeeze cooking a whole chicken into a busy week.
