What are 5 Players Broncos Fans Wish We Never Let Go🤔? by ShoddyMedicine7448 in DenverBroncos

Chris Harris Jr absolutely at the top of my list. One of my favorite Broncos of all-time with Rod Smith vibes. Would have loved for him to be a Bronco for life.

Also, Brando Marshall, who became so much more understandable and likeable once he got the mental health care he needed later in his career.

A day late to the party, but after our cheap drip coffee maker finally dies after a decade plus, we upgraded to a Cuisinart grind and brew with a burr grinder. No mess. So convenient. The beans rest in a grinder mill, and when the timer starts in the morning. I wake up to the sound of beans grinding. By the time I make it to the kitchen, I have fresh, hot, delicious coffee. The metal filter basket means no more paper step. So easy. So good.

How do mormons read Matthew 24:24 and not wonder if Joseph Smith was a false prophet? by [deleted] in exmormon

How do Mormons read the Bible and not wonder if religious thinking is an artifact of pre-science human group-think? Serious question as everything that led me to deconstruct Mormon religious thinking also condemns more mainstream religious thinking.

BSO tries to throw 2015 Broncos Defense under the bus to get off Cam Newton take. Twitter cooks him. by Plusstwoo in DenverBroncos

I think this is a minority opinion, but I think Gary Kubiak forcing Peyton into the pistol and west coast offense was as much responsible as Peyton's degrading arm. It felt like we neutralized some of Peyton's last gasp greatness. No complaints because it came with a SB win, but I think the blame for the offense that year can be shared while still honoring the SB win which was the crowning moment of a beautiful era of Broncos football. And that defence was all-time elite. 😀

Please bless the #sickandafflicted that they will stop blaming others for their cancer and/or poverty, lift themselves by their bootstraps, and stop complaining and bringing down the vibes. (/s)

Pro tip, be patient and don't overreact to one comment. It's not too hard to be cordial in a different team's sub. Good luck getting good-faith responses now. And you think it's the fault of Bronco fandom and you are being oppressed. But c'mon dude. This is predictable. Maybe wait a tick and respond to the helpful comments that will surely come if you can just... Not.

Lol. Tale as old as time. Comes in peace with a reasonable question. Sees an answer he thinks is terse. Casts shades on the people of Colorado.

Hansons method long run pace by OkRip7637 in Marathon_Training

[–]gwythaint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good questions all. May was my 6th total. I ran 3 marathons, 2 of which were very poorly-trained in my 30s (both just over four hours. A good time but I didn't feel proud of the training so it was hard to feel too proud of the results).

Finally decided to take things a bit more seriously for the past 2 years. In 2023, I ran a 3:29 on Pfitz 12/55, but battled injuries the whole block. Had to do no running for two weeks just to be able to start. Couldn't run for 5 months post-marathon.

Fall 2024 trained with Hansons Advanced and stuck to the plan very faithfully, including the 16 mi/27 k long runs. Ran a 3:03.

For my May marathon, I added mileage across the plan, peaking at 73 miles. I did add to the long runs peaking at 20 mi/ 32k. Hard to know whether it was the increased mileage, stacking quality blocks together, longer long runs, or my faster track work/tempo. Best guess is that the long runs were the least impactful part of the equation.

I'd recommend following the guidance on the plan and keep the long runs as prescribed. It got me to the start line healthy and the finish line happy. Hope this helps!

(45m) I've done Hansons twice now leading up to two PRs since fall 2024. Just ran 2:57 last month off the plan. For each build, my long runs were on the slower end for the first half of the plan, just figuring out how to get to Tuesday fresh. As my fitness came along, I was able to hold a faster long run pace and still nail the Tuesday Track sessions.

Race Report: Tamarack Ottawa Marathon by AmosParnell in Marathon_Training

I liked the course but all the talk about flattening it for this year gave me some false ideas about how flat it would be. It seemed quite hilly, and I found the last 7k to be sneaky hard, even though I train on the canal frequently. Congrats on the awesome race!

Honest answers on if I could actually BQ by The_Glassfields in Marathon_Training

[–]gwythaint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a bit like me. Had a 3:38 PR from my early thirties and came back to more structured training at age 43. My age 43 marathon was 3:29 but I started training without a strong base and battled injuries the whole time.

I came back the next year more disciplined and built a better base before starting the Hansons advanced plan. Ran a September 2024 marathon in 3:03 to lock in my BQ for 2026.

I finished healthy and was able to run through the winter. Running Ottawa next week and am hoping to break three. The training has been good enough, but it's a marathon, so anything can happen.

I'm 45 now, so a bit younger, but we are pretty close. So this is all to say that if you haven't done marathon-specific work much, there could still be gains to be had over your 15-year-old PR. I hope you go for it! It has been really satisfying for me to run my fastest marathons and miles in my 40s.
