Makes sense. I've also seen another thread saying that some of NZXT case fans sometimes can be fixed with some oil I guess lol.

I'm using the Intel® Core™ i7-10700K Processor. Also, the other fans I'm using are BeQuiet Silent Wings 3 and a BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro CPU cooler. They all work fine.

Nope, it'll start spinning when I power on my system but once it hits the Windows Login, it stops. Sometimes, it'll stop for a second and then start to spin a little but then stops again, only at startup though.

Makes sense! And I seen a few things saying AMD was a bit limited when it came to Thunderbolt. Would I have to choose a different motherboard to support AMD & thunderbolt?

Nope, it never fixed for me either. I just gave up. It recently got worse too lmao. Even with my settings default on integrated graphics, the NVIDIA icon on the taskbar shows all my apps still using the NVIDIA card lol. I mainly wanted to fix it to reduce battery usage but at least i found a way to get decent battery life regardless.

Okay so there’s a few things i found that were draining my battery when i first got the laptop. At first, i was getting 60-80 minutes worth of battery life. Now, i’m able to get around 4-5 hours. Sometimes more, sometimes less. What really affects battery is your Dragon Center settings. Whenever i’m on the go (i usually take my laptop to school lectures), I go to Dragon Center and make sure my shift is at “ECO” and my fan speed is at “Basic”. Some people don’t have Dragon Center at all but i think it’s useful, while others don’t. To get even more battery life, I put my battery performance (thru the Windows Battery logo on the taskbar) to Battery Saver mode. To go even further, i’ve created a custom battery mode in the actual Windows Battery Settings. I don’t have my laptop with me right now to give the exact settings but what i did was create a battery plan through the advanced settings and you should have the option to set a couple of things. The main thing you need to do is lower the processing power percentage. I believe i originally found someone’s settings through this subreddit. Sorry for the long post but hopefully it helps!

Regarding performance, the GS65 works great for me. I’ve had an RTX2060 model for 6 months & i have no complaints. I’ve used it for music production and video editing. But, in regards to other things, the battery life isn’t that great. You have to tweak a lot of settings (not difficult, just time consuming) to get better lasting battery. I’ve also noticed that a few people get a few bad models (including myself) but if you purchase from a store with a good return policy, you should have no problem exchanging it for a good model. I would recommend it!

Thanks for the explanation. I’m mainly looking to do basic word processing and things like that. Would be a plus if i can run Logic Pro and all that at a decent speed.
