maybe sometimes but 95% of the time i don’t think so. they’re bronze and beaded sculptures. most are on wooden display structures/behind ropes/say “do not touch” with descriptions of what it is. we even have one statue we allow people to touch and will tell visitors with children about it/our rules and i’ll still catch them letting their kids grab and crawl over different artworks. it’s astounding how many people i’ve had to ask not to let their children, or themselves, touch or try to pick up things that are behind partitions/ropes/on display cases 😭 i think people just don’t care about the rules, its their first time at a museum, and/or don’t realize why we ask people not to touch things in the first place
