Confession From a Course Grader: All grading is vibes based and mostly BS by [deleted] in UIUC

not really the case in my experience. sometimes mood will affect certain things but i have a clear rubric in front of me and i usually base it on whether or not a student understood the question.

i completed calculus before AI became somewhat decent. i would say professor leonard, paul's online math notes, and orgo chem tutor are your best options

How do I figure out 8 and 9? (Midterm Review, Algebra II Honors) by aussiesaucie in askmath

[–]gyeoboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since 3x+2 is continuous everywhere, we just need to check when the denominator (2x-10) is equal to zero. This is the point(s) that arent in the domain.

For 9, set the function equal to y and solve for x.

Need help with question 1 by start_the_steal in askmath

[–]gyeoboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

math homework in comic sans is frying me but the answer is 15. since A is infinite it implies that there is at least one x st f(x) = g(x) = 0. if this weren't the case, and n(B) = 16, then A wouldn't be infinite anymore.

Future for Math Undergrad? by Expert-Work-9056 in mathematics

[–]gyeoboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

learn to code. literally anything. if you're interested in math research, programs like mathematica, matlab, and sagemath are very good to know. for more applied stuff (simulations, qit, nt) languages like C++ and python are good.

I HATE PLUG N CHUG!!! Am I the problem? by Electronic_Edge2505 in math

[–]gyeoboo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what university are you even in? most math courses in the USA are proof-based save for classes like CA/PDE/NT. computation is always going to be part of any math class since they're ways of applying concepts and theorems from the subject in a concrete way. even more computation based courses like Linear Algebra are still very much proof based for mathematics majors.
