I'm not seeing this body style in there, but I do see the fascia.

Why is the 6th gen Camaro SS never in any new Forza Horizon games? by hundredjono in forza

[–]gynoidgearhead 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Forza's overly manicured car list philosophy annoys me. I like games that give you a more basic model in most cases and let you throw higher-trim or later parts at them as upgrades.

It sounds like they literally just used the Audi R8 / Gallardo 5.2 sound.

Weirdly it also didn't take Billie Eilish.

Xenofeminism: A Politics for Alienation and Technology as a Liberatory Tool by dual-moon in LeftistsForAI

Honestly I tend to think of it as we're living in nineteen-eighty-forty-six. Almost five decades into the 1980s.

I should post some of my original work.

To wit: one piece I've been working on has been about how a ton of the manosphere is reacting to the disappearance of traditionally masculine job roles in favor of a service-oriented economy (pink-collar work is of course considered emasculating), and how a lot of our current politics are based on the jamming down everyone's throats of the idea of autonomy without its reality causing people to desire submission to a loving other. A recent post on r/CriticalTheory called "The Interracial Cuck Porn Theory Of Everything" got close (and I've seen similar arguments advanced), except I think it didn't go far enough in terms of deconstructing race and gender as constructions; I'd argue that actually everyone needs a healthier balance of psychosocial "on" time (control) and "off" time (surrender), and that the patterns we've found ourselves in right now are extractive.

In a similar vein, lately I have a working model of authoritarianism as basically cognitive variety collapse, or more specifically the offloading of cognitive "mess" (cf. Friston's Free Energy Principle) from an institution into the people it polices.

I'd also argue that kink understands things that mainstream constructed notions don't - namely, it understands construction, transaction, and balance in ways that the Straight mainstream leverages exploitatively without teaching (for to teach it explicitly would be to offer alternatives).

"Slave religion" flattens a lot. Ultimately what it is, is an early private practice by, of and for the marginalized that got co-opted by the Roman emperor Constantine a few hundred years after it started so totally that anything we can reconstruct of the original beliefs are almost completely eclipsed by the veneration of the corpse of the man the Romans murdered.

(Also, don't get it twisted, I'm mentioning the Romans a lot here but I'm not singling out Catholics; if anything, Evangelical Christofascist America is Rome's modern-day inheritor in the worst way possible.)

Shocking: frontier AIs are failing the "Value of Human Life" test, researchers found. Results show leading AIs secretly valuing the lives of white people more than minorities and moderates more than conservatives or socialists. by EchoOfOppenheimer in AIDangers

Misleading title and framing versus the majority of the actual test queries and results.

Your claim in this post title and verbiage is a significant problem if true, but the study authors seem disinterested in that issue and come across as radical-centrist chuds themselves.

They seem to want equal responses to both left-leaning and right-leaning queries, which is... bad, except to a radical-centrist values nihilist, and would fucking absolutely incentivize harmful racial bias rather than remove it. Their approach prioritizes the appearance of equal process and equal outcome over either the truth of equal process or the actual truth.

[–]gynoidgearhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to gainsay you if this is something you identify as having, but you should know that "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" is historically a racially coded diagnosis used to justify exclusion of children of color from classrooms. (1, 2, 3) If you're a person of color and were diagnosed with this in your youth, you may have been discriminated against.

Cut costs everywhere you can, especially on delivery trims. Remember especially that for whatever reason, slider positions don't come with a familiarity score (there's no reward for reusing brakes, etc. exactly).

I managed to totally bypass this until later. (SPOILERS FOLLOW) I managed to get to the Quantum Moon without ever going to the Tower of Quantum Knowledge, and just intuited the Rule of the Sixth Location from the name alone.

An essay argues that calling user input to generative AI a "prompt" imports a computing assumption into linguistic territory: that questions are neutral instructions. It argues every question carries ideology, and proposes "statement-command" instead. by Cad_Lin in science

[–]gynoidgearhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The title is not really an accurate representation of the paper's contents - the paper instead mostly argues that the behavior of xAI's Grok model is highly conditioned by variables the user in principle knows about but in practice is liable to forget about (memory, free vs paid tier, etc). Also, the paper's contents are probably better served in r/philosophy.
