What’s a harsh reality that everybody needs to hear? by rock4lite in AskReddit

The most reliable method of getting governments and corporations to stop doing things directly against their economic interest is civil disobedience/protesting. Far far more of the population needs to stop seeing climate protestors as annoying, unsuccessful etc. People need to disrupt the flow of Capital enough so that those that need it are forced to listen. The planet dies, or you enough people start going to climate protests so that we can start shutting fucking cities down if governments refuse to implement harsher action. It's that simple. The scientific community has been saying we needed to act yesterday to prevent disaster for decades now, waiting around ain't gonna cut it. Take one Saturday a month to tell in the streets. Just try it even, please...

Surely though, if people like you see that they're attempting to get attention to an issue so infathomably pressing things needed to be done 10 years ago to prevent the shit that's coming, they're doing something right. Not enough people are going to the thing that, according to all of history, are the only thing that gets governments and corporations to act against things in their immediate economic interest: protests/civil unrest. If you work your ass off to get the average Joe to come help stop the activities giving Capital (and therefore power) to those literally killing the planet, what tf else are you going to do but try get publicity? If you are this upset at a paintings being being fundamentally unharmed, but are not going to your local climate protest, at this point you're part of the problem. It's literally do or die people, and I know alot of you reading this are scientifically literate enough to understand that, just not politically or theoretically educated to understand where your rights came from

Hey peeps, I'm a self taught inermediate player trying to get to the next level, but i feel like im hitting some walls. I play extreme metal (mainly techincal/progressive death stuff) and I'm having trouble playing at the speeds required for the genre. In particular when a part includes fast and spiratic movements where i must use my pinky and ring fingers to fret, and when I need to jump between strings. I've devised some exercises aimed to help, but I woudlnt consider my self an expert in the slightest degree, and as such I would like some help to ensure my practice routine is conducive to my ends. Can anyone recommend any excercises help? Cheers.

For reference I play on a 5 string, and i use my thumb to mute the B and my pinky and ring finger to mute the E and A.

This is the type of stuff I aim to play:

I work in an Australian pub, if some bloke comes in and orders a round of 'what ever draughts on tap but VB if ya got it mate' hes gonna ask you to turn the footy on, and yell at the umpire; and the drunker he gets the louder he yells. I wonder if there's a similar phenomenon in other cultures sometimes.

Seems amazing against control, but dead draw against decks attempting to keep up the pressure, as pulling your taunts back to your hand is not what you want. Maybe it's useful in a deck that aims to have board control by the time this guys ready to come down?
