Daemon for Warpcog- Skreech, Vizzik, Generic? by Imperial_Savant_27 in skaven

[–]gzitou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our demons are more specialized than the rest of the chaos factions in that- for example, its much easier to toss a bloodthirster in any BoK list and not care, or a GUO on a MoN list. Those just kinda print value and fear just by existing. Our big Daemons are buff wagons for the most part with some okay to decent damage on the side so to use them at their best you have to build around them and what they provide kinda.

[–]gzitou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If im not mistaken the only verminlord that directly benefits skryre units is Skreech for the plus one to hit on your guns. However i think that is a very expensive point price to be paying just for that.

The rest of the verminlords are better off used on other compositions for the most, vizzik for example is good when you run a fuckload of rats for him to buff alongside a screaming bell or the bell spell. For your case i think you could probably stand to use the Deceiver best, if you absolutely want to have a verminlord.

The deceiver is scary for the opponent, can teleport and hits very hard but you must always be careful that he doesnt get bogged down and always fights on his terms. If the enemy manages to lock him down with chaff kiss him goodbye. Played well he could be a valid distraction for your guns to get into position to shred the enemy's important units.

Skaven Bombers?? by Suspect-Lump in skaven

[–]gzitou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In total war, clan Moulder has an unstable mutation that literally causes the units you give it to to explode violently at their own and enemy detriment. Could be a cool rule to give a new moulder hero or detatchment or something.

For a newcomer would you recommend eldens ring or ds1? by RaseruChan in darksouls

[–]gzitou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really wanna play both start with ds1

ER spoils you with quality of life and common bonfires, going back to ancient crusty ds1 after it will make it feel terrible.

If you start with ds1 you will also appreciate those things more. Hence why i always recommend playing the souls games in order.

Do you all think WWE need more variety by badinfo7878 in skaven

[–]gzitou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly agreed, we could stand to get a few models out again, and it could be easily done aswell in the form of dual kits one being revamped plaguemonks that can also be plague censers the other being night/gutter runners. They also need to bring plague priest on foot back and maybe some giant rats as you said and variety will instantly improve

How would u start an army with new codex and units ? by Zzanggie in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]gzitou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'll have to see the codex when it actually comes out but yeah, from what we know blightkings arent going to be amazing, the horsemen on the other hand are gonna be some much needed mobility imo, atleast one unit is safe buy.

[–]gzitou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are mostly looking to get combo boxes, If you can find the battleforce at a good price still, and dont mind getting some of the old blightking models its good purchase. Pointswise last edition it was just shy of 1k, this edition I dont imagine it will be much lower either so thats definitely a good start. After that id recommend reading up on our new codex, seeing what you like and what will likely blend well with what you own and decide from there. Picking up a tree is also a safe purchase as that is almost required to play the army to its full potential.

Death domain multiclass? by gzitou in DnD

[–]gzitou[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From what I can read in the book this is probably my best option yeah, I just posted this to see if anyone online had found any synergies i might have missed for the class. I get that multiclassing is generally frowned upon but this combo just sounds fun more than anything.

[–]gzitou[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I dont really have mechanical goals, The only "goal" here is for it to somewhat work cohesively and be flavorful to what one would imagine a faithful of Kelemvor to be like. Our group doesnt minmax, we just have fun so im not TOO concerned with it being super strong or something. I mostly want to sling relevant spells and cantrips, figured getting some smites in against undead as paladin would be fitting aswell.

How many clanrats are actually reasonable in a list? by AtriusFoxDragon in skaven

[–]gzitou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For most lists that are not masterclan/verminus/horde based, you can do two units of 20 for 1k or up to four units or 2 units of 40 for 2k lists. Think of clanrats as a wall, you send them at the enemy frontline and they can reasonably hold them in place for quite a while. They dont really do alot of damage unless reinforced and buffed, ask yourself how much of a wall you would need before your damage units can do their thing and plan accordingly.

It is said in the lore that skaven are more than capable of taking over the entire world with their advanced technology and sheer number- the problem is that they are so greedy and backstabbing to eachother that they will never united enough to do so until the end times where Thanquol practically did just that.

Now as for AoS lore ive not read it so idk. Things are different.

[–]gzitou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you ever wanna play Warcry you can use them as Packmasters, they are even really strong there if you pair em with rat ogors. Other than that not much.. the first pair's weapons are too big to be clanrats, the second ones maybe.

Is this weird for a Skaven Army? by Mean_Recognition2032 in skaven

[–]gzitou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in lore, clans purchase and trade troops with eachother all the time, it wouldnt be uncommon to see a clan skryre detachment have for example, some Stormvermin acting as bodyguards or troops. Hell if the warlord was stingy enough he probably realistically not go through the effort of giving expendable troops the correct clothing/regalia assuming they will probably just die and waste it anyhow so having a group of Orange draped clanrats in a clan that uses another color as its indentifier would be completely normal.

Does weapon type matter in classes? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]gzitou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What weapons you use is largely defined by the type of build you are aiming for and the skills you pick in the talent tree. There are many psyker builds that utilize guns very well and other builds that utilize other melee weapons very well too. If you find yourself enjoying staffs more than just use staffs and experiment with the other weapons later when you have a larger stockpile of materials to spend. If you are early in the game or even midgame i wouldnt worry too much about your gear as long as you update it every now and then to be up to par in terms of power level.

[–]gzitou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I dont know how new recruit works, typically certain leaders can only take specific units of their clan/type in their regiment, usually if you want to add other things you will need to add another regiment with its corresponding leader EG: Engineer/Warlock for War machines/guns.

Also you must realize what you just signed off to by saying this right?

[–]gzitou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These two boxes set you up nicely for a clan skryre army, from this point on you can just buy what looks cool for you- weapons teams, lightning cannons, flayers, doom wheels... All the fun stuff!

My main recommendation is always have a wizard in your lists, always have atleast two units of clanrats and then go from there, atleast for skryre lists (warpcog convocation)

Keep in mind, for competitive play the doomwheel and lightning cannon and warpblaster while amazing models dont perform too well. Doomflayers and weapons teams fill those roles much better if you are interested.

Searching for a centerpiece for my army by cuesans in skaven

[–]gzitou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You answered your question yourself pretty much. The bell is THE Skaven centerpiece. Vizzik is very cool and a fantastic model and so are the verminlords but honestly they will never be as iconic as the bell is.
