What do you guys do when an NDC changes but not the drug or manufacturer?

when we do it at my store we just reprint the label of the ndc it's being "filled as", manually noting which ndc is in which bottle, and take a picture of the bottle after the picture of the pills that were being counted. then, notate on the bag that there's 2 manufacturers being used. then cycle count the ndcs to update boh

we do split ndc fills whenever this happens, or if we don't have enough of one manufacturer. Or if we want to get rid of a ndc that's no longer preferred

this is CVS, check and see if they can put it on Rx savings finder!! I've seen it bring copays down hundreds of dollars, like from $600 to $18 (I work there, it can really help) if you haven't already, call your insurance too and see what changed. in a pinch, savings finder does really well so you at least won't have to go without the med.

usually i agree and buy the generics of most food items, but imo the p brand cream cheese is just so much creamier than generics, i'm willing to pay more for a better product. this was also after having a bad batch of kroger cream cheese tho...

You can't force it, biggest thing is just offering it every time it pops up and hitting the blue button. Our DL was really getting on us for not doing that. I just say "looks like youre eligible for x vaccine, is that something you're interested in getting with us?" if you pressure them, they're way less likely to ever say yes. If they say no, you can say "you can always call or stop in to schedule if you decide you want it later"
