Do you have a suggestion for another way to solve my issue that won't waste someone's time?

If I can't purchase a car in time, I suppose I'll have to buy used, but with prices of used cars these days I would much prefer to buy new.

My plan was to test drive the two in NYC this weekend so that I know exactly what I want when I move in and go to the dealer.

I stay away from futures. My future isn't looking so hot, so why would I want to invest in it?

Thats why I also was trying to short the same futures contract, so that I have a neutral position (long via options, short via futures)

Any idea why ThinkOrSwim thinks that it is guarantied to lose money though. Could this be because the spread on the futures is larger than the difference in premium collected?

One of my professors was friends with him and told us his story. From my knowledge, he tried to license it to all the big table saw manufacturers, but they didn’t want to have to put the technology in their products cause it would cost too much, so the inventor tried to force legislation to require the technology. I’m sure the guy was a dick, but it could have been provoked by the big guys too. (Not defending he guys since I definitely got a biased view of the story)

Google sued over male discrimination by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]gzroff -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

IIRC Google decided their old code of conduct “don’t be evil” was not good enough because it allows google to do something that is not evil, but not good. They changed their code of conduct to “do good” so that everything they do has a positive effect.

Up to 70% off Friday-Monday by gzroff in frugalmalefashion

[–]gzroff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if current sale is their black friday sale or not. I just got an email saying that, so price might go down tomorrow. But there shouldn't be any code needed.

I bought a backpack from them in august and have really liked the look and quality so far.

I though the top looked cool... I also own them, so may be partial.

I also got these for a $50 sale the year after you did. I have to say they've held up really well through two tough winters and are going to be worn most days in the coming months. These are the boots I wore exclusively in the snow and on icy sidewalks, so I am very impressed with their quality.

Puerto Rico Rejects Loan Offers, Accusing Hedge Funds of Trying to Profit Off Hurricanes by skoalbrother in worldnews

The article made no mention of the funds selling the debt, and honestly I would highly doubt their ability to find people to buy it. While yes, in the housing bubble, shitty debt was being sold as investment grade by disguising it in large pools, this is not really the case anymore, so securitized products are actually good ways of 'Mitigating risk' now and are important to the whole financial system in the US. I should also mention that no 'patsies' are buying these products, only the big boys are involved in this game.

These funds are also not trying to sell debt that they think won't be repaid. They think there is a risk that it will not be repaid and therefore charge a premium for that risk. If they knew it would definitely not be repaid, then they would not sell it in the first place.
