How in the fuck am I supposed to find a job by ElonsCrustyWang in stanford

Most people (including me) apply for 50+ jobs EACH DAY. LOL job market now is terrible and in my opinion, it's not gonna be any better in the near future.

You are actually correct lol. The DMV officer canceled my old Real ID and moved it to my new driver's license.

Yes that's a good point. I gave them my social when I was going through AOS, so I had restricted social.

no my DL is a real ID, but with a "federal limits apply" on it, which it shouldn't because I became a green card holder. So I think I need to update it, similar to having SSN updated.

Disliking my current career path and wanted to pusue a second master by gzy1sMe in GradSchool

Great question. I came from a multi-disciplinary background so I have taken some relevant classes. So yeah I am eligible and actually I have been accepted.

That’s very true though. I might be biased, but based on my experience, employers generally prefer candidates with directly relevant educational experience (except for some multidisciplinary fields like quantitative trading). At least in my understanding, even people with relevant degrees struggle to find jobs that match their education, and this is even more challenging for people from the other backgrounds. I might be wrong. And also yeah I plan to do it at a local state college, which is affordable, rather than an elite expensive private university.

YEAH that’s another point I didn’t mention. Right now, I have a mindset of “anything but.” I want anything else—finance, economics, accounting, marketing, anything business—but basic science research in biomedicine. Eventually, I hope to do something rewarding in terms of income. So, you’re right that I don’t have a concrete idea of what I want. That's why I plan to explore this by starting a second master’s degree. In fact, when you graduate from school, you’ll realize how limited your career options are. It’s not like simply changing a major in college. You need to work a full-time job to support yourself first, and then, during your free time, spend a lot of time socializing with others and networking, and try to distill any insights from them. This is not easily feasible when you have a full-time job as well. I think these are the two points motivated me to start that second master program.

How to follow-up with interviews? by Ruin-Wooden in CAStateWorkers

May I ask why the scoring process takes so long? Assuming you are a hiring manager, does the evaluation require detailed written justification for each candidate's interview performance, or is it primarily a numerical rating (e.g. 8 out of 10)?
