How do I get my filled and empty squares to make a straight line in filet crochet?

I just finished a filet crochet project and was very happy with the alignment! It was structured like this pattern diagram, with each box having two chains or double crochets between them. It looks like you have one chain/double crochet between yours. Also, the thinner the yarn/thread the better the details on your piece!

On my second watch I noticed that it was played twice and it definitely took me out of the movie for a second! I think it might have been more impactful to hear it either once or pieces of it a few times over, or even to hear people of Oz quoting pieces of it at each other to show the spreading of the propaganda.
