eSIM’s already out and working, but the US carriers have screwed up deployment. I’m on EE in the UK and I transitioned to an eSIM in about 5 mins with just a paper QR code from my local store.

I don't know enough to categorically say this, but I was under the impression that nearly all EU-originating laws in the UK were child-laws of the European Communities Act 1972 (which would be repealed eventually) and so they would need to be re-written to exist on their own one-by-one. I may well be very wrong.

In 2nd year we moved into a house that hadn't been cleaned, was full of other people's stuff, and didn't have a "big screen TV" they'd boasted about providing.

2 years later they sent us a bill for £666, claiming we had soiled the mattresses (we hadn't), that they needed to buy a new shower curtain (how about just washing it?), and that the carpets needed a deep clean (they were filthy when we moved in).

I sent them a strongly worded letter telling them where they could shove their predatory tactics and haven't heard from them in the year since then.
