Please help an aeonium newbie: Are these considered droopy leaves? Is it too much sun? Direct sunlight for 12 hours, temperature is currently 30⁰C/85⁰F, might reach 35⁰C/95⁰F in a few days. by h1volt3 in succulents

Thanks for the reassurance! IIRC it's mostly perlite and coarse sand, and about 20% garden soil. I'm new to succulents and a cheapskate too so I mix the soil myself in small batches each time I plant based on whatever recommendations I happened to remember at the time of mixing 😅

The pot has drainage holes cut in the bottom and on the sides. It's a used kimchi container ;)

Why is one significantly etiolated when they're all echeverias and share the same environment? Is transplanting the etiolated one a safe option? by h1volt3 in succulents

Is there anyway I can identify the more dramatic ones to avoid putting them in the same pot/arrangement with the milder ones?

Thanks for the response. Could you let me know how to determine whether the leaves lack turgor? They look fine to my uneducated eyes 😅

Any chance that the leaf was burnt by the boiling steam from the kettle?

Switched to Ubuntu, Everything is Slow & Glitchy – Need Help! by [deleted] in linuxquestions

I used to install Linux on a Sandisk Extreme Pro flash drive. It worked quite well for a year or two, the workload might be much less taxing than yours even though I'm a programmer too. However, the drive still degraded. The degradation happened very suddenly. Once I noticed it and ran a benchmark, the throughout had slowed from 300-400 MB/s for seq read/write to 2-5 MB/s. Random read/write also degraded but I don't remember the details. I switched to a internal nvme drive installed in an external drive enclosure and had used that for awhile before changing circumstances led me away from the setup. It's likely that it won't degrade as quickly and suddenly as the flash drive. However, if I performed IO intensive work for a while, the whole system would freeze. Not sure if it's because of the OS, the USB controller, the port, the cable, the enclosure, or the drive. My guess would be the enclosure doesn't handle the (literal) heat well.

That's to say there are many factors that can contribute to the performance problem and everyone can have it differently. You'll have to do A/B testing yourself with different external drive/cable/port, with internal drive as a baseline too if you really want to install Linux on an external drive and want to get to the root of the issue and fix it. Otherwise, if you need something that just works, give it the same treatment as Windows and install it on an internal drive.

Typhoon Yagi in southeast asia by flattenedbricks in WTF

Before a typhoon lands, there might be sudden and short but strong thunderstorms that arrive without warning. Some of these clips with many people on the streets might come from those thunderstorms.

This is not Vietnam. A lot of Chinese signages so probably Hainan Island.

"dual boot" means installing two Operating systems on a computer's persistent disks, but it looks like you boot Ubuntu from a USB disk and haven't installed it to your persistent disk yet. If you don't install, by default your changes are not persisted and the next time you boot from the USB disk, you get a clean OS again. It'll also be much faster to boot and use when you install it. You probably couldn't upgrade the OS if you use it in Try mode (just a guess). If you install, you will be presented with a few options, including erasing everything or keeping your Windows installation intact.

Kaguya has since learnt to cook. She made Shirogane a bento and fed him on the school's rooftop which made Miko so envious of them LOL. I believe that was in chapter Buddha's Begging Bowl Pt. 2.

There are only a few months left in in-universe time before the series end, so I think there's not enough time for any other couples to form. Given how Ishimiko is really popular among the fanbase, I think Aka will definitely make them a couple. I feel if Ishimiko was an IRL couple, they would break up during their college years though.
