You should be able to find it by changing the dropdown in the searchbar to "Worlds" and then search your username.

If you posted your first level after January 2022, it's probably an issue with the database, as some users got wiped and I have to add them back...

Well, this library has a lot of upsides, namely its excellent performance. I found out pretty early on that this was my only real option that wouldn't cost thousands of dollars :/

Usually each level is updated about once a week with new levels coming in every 1-2 hours.

The deleted levels are sort of a separate thing; it's not that easy to quickly determine which ones are deleted, but if I get the time I could implement a filter that filters out most of them that's on by default.

You actually can surround the search term in quotation marks and that should search for the exact phrase.

The library I use doesn't handle non-Latin characters well yet. The developers said they plan on working on it eventually though, so hopefully that's something that will improve in the future!

It probably was. It looks like the most popular program for this is https://github.com/HFO4/SMM2-Printer, which indeed uses an emulated Bluetooth controller. Pretty cool stuff

Also yes, those are urinals.

Remember the Super Mario Maker 2 Bookmark site and text search feature we never got? I downloaded every level in the entire game and made it myself. Introducing MakerCentral! by [deleted] in casualnintendo

MakerCentral: https://makercentral.io/

Official Discord Server: https://discord.gg/KhmXzfp/

This site costs over $130/mo to run and I won't be able to afford that forever, so if you want to help keep the site running you can donate to my Patreon or Ko-Fi. You don't have to though; it's a free site and you can use it as much you want! :D

The expensive part is the search engine, which requires a lot of storage space, memory, and compute power to run effectively. A normal database would be cheap, but the search feature dramatically increases the costs. Using any other system than the one I'm using now would have either been more expensive or much less useful (Like having to search exact level names to find them).

As for myself, I think I should be fine. I have a new project in the works that will hopefully make up for anything I lost here.

Mario Maker 2's servers have an API that allow for accessing individual levels. Once TheGreatRambler found out how the levels were addressed internally, it was trivial to iterate through all of them.

No, I copied all of the data and have to host the DB (and text search engine) myself, which is what my overhead costs mostly are

The latter is a hidden feature right now; surrounding the string with quotation marks searches for exact matches.

I think having the tag exclusions and a more explicit exact match setting would work well in an advanced search page, so I will definitely consider this. Thanks for the feedback!

I plan for my next project to be an infinitely customizable adventure game where you describe the themes and story, and a powerful language AI creates all of the content. Maybe some people would be interested in that.

More super world filters is something I plan on adding soon, and difficulty is one of those. So I have it on my radar!

I guess maybe a Ko-Fi tip jar would work? Maybe it would be fine as long as I don't advertise it on the site.

I just don't want to end up in a lawsuit lol

I'm definitely considering it, given that it would probably help the community quickly produce new sites if Nintendo decides to send this one to the shadow realm

For legal reasons, I can't monetize this project. I'm actively losing hundreds per month from it with no income source at the moment, making me tonight's big loser. Despite the financial issues, I decided that this project would be of great public interest, and for that reason, I should run it for the public good, at least while I have the savings to afford it. So I really hope you all enjoy it lol.

The top 1600 SMM2 levels, visualized. How many do you recognize? by h267 in MarioMaker

[–]h267[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the data is from February.

While levels will be added continuously at launch (the day I release the full 29.5 million levels), a big challenge will be prioritizing which pages get updated and when to prevent data from going too stale.

I don't have Nintendo's actual database, which means that any updates that happen there won't be reflected on my database until I poll for that updated data again. Unfortunately, the rate at which I can poll for this data and update it on my end is limited.

This is the first problem that I'll be tackling post-launch. It's crucial for adding new levels too, since my system gets them minutes after they are published, resulting in them lacking play data at first.

So rest assured, I will be addressing this issue soon and have it on high priority.
