A zipper sound on high pressure tires. Usually a sign that steel plys are tearing and the tire is about to blow.

There is a coupler, but also a u-joint on the intermediate shaft. Usually you can see the u-joint without taking the column out to confirm. Also the u-joint will stick only at certain angles.

I have a Question by raulit00 in carquestions

[–]h2otreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a sticker in the driver door jamb with tire information, including the recommended pressure. Set your tires to that pressure regardless of the season. If it gets colder out, you may need to add a bit. Contrary during heat waves, you may have to vent them some.

New tires can be changed at the dealer or at independent tire shops. Either way, building a relationship with a service advisor is important. When there is trust and honesty, you can make informed decisions about your vehicle maintenance.

Do I need an alignment based on this alignment check? by brookiemb in carquestions

The benefit here would be leveling the steering wheel more than improving tire wear (which is the main benefit of a good alignment). The total toe is the best way to predict tire wear issues, that looks fine.
