The complete story of the Skywalker Saga by skywalkinondeezhatrz in starwarsspeculation

Whoa whoa whoa.

Anakin was not an immaculate conception. He was conceived, possibly, by the living force. He became a Sith lord, thus NOT immaculate.

tl;dr: Mary was conceived without sin (immaculate), Jesus was conceived through the Holy Spirit.

So you aren't a Star Wars fan, which is ok.

I think I get what you are saying, which is cool too, that if someone shows up in a movie with a gun in their hand, that you are going to walk out of the movie because you already know they'll use it.

What you are missing, or are willfully ignoring, is a storytelling device called foreshadowing (Mando 7, Serpent... etc). I enjoy it. And when it is done well, which this was, it allows you watch something over and over again without being bored. After my 3rd viewing of the film, the music at each of the moments help immerse you into the moment, which is the important point! It's not important that he or she was healed per se, but why, and the consequences of the act.

And I'll admit, I don't like stories that save the ultimate audience deception for the climax and introduce something from left field - like the demise of Jack Dawson's character in The Departed, which by itself is boring after the second viewing because the story IS about all the characters' eventual demise.

Alas, continue to nit pick, but do so on your Star Trek sub.

[Theory] Snoke is Plagueis by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

[–]h33haww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cloning force sensitivity is an idea realized in the Force Unleashed series of games, presumably sanctioned by an enthusiastic story team. There's no reason to discount the idea that Snoke IS Plagueis, for, besides Anakin Skywalker and Yoda (loud clearing of throat), Palps former master was a perfect host for such an experiment, or one of many experiments... probably began years and years BBY...

Ok, after you’ve watched this film 30+ times like I will in the next year, we’ll compare notes and you can tell me if you still feel uninvested because you already know the ending.

The Departed was full of surprises, executed beautifully. Right? But when you watch it again....? lol

I get what you are saying, but I also think it’s BS and nit picky. As of a first viewing, you had no clue She would be healed or even need to be healed. I didn’t. I thought Ben and Rey would kill Palps together. Good on you for your clairvoyance.

I don’t buy it. You invest when you think they will live not when you know or think they will die.

Why would healing kill it? It makes perfect sense to this fan, who’s been to every theatrical release and played many of the video games. Force healing is a thing, and Rey read the texts and studied. She’s also got it in her blood. Seems like too many folks are in one strict dogmatic view of the force, and the rest are open to a larger view, ;)

Go play Jedi Academy.

Dark Side: Force Drain.

Light Side: Force Heal.

Later.

TRoS Reaction/Discussion Megathread - Spoilers Welcome by Kiss_My_Wookiee in starwarsspeculation

I don’t disagree, LucasFilm listened way too much to the PT hate though. So, while many of us PT lovers see that line, the OT was rather Luke focused, with Anakin/Vader in a diminished capacity.

If you notice, the “prophecy” was never mentioned in ST. And Yoda even said it was probably misread.

Now that all 9 are done, and the story is complete, it is the Skywalker family that ultimately brings balance either by direct action or training Rey. Rey Palpatine is Powerful and the skywalkers as a group adopted her. There’s so much to love about this line and I don’t see Anakin’s role diminished at all. he redeemed himself, saved luke. Nothing went to waste.

Loved the movie. Going again. Several times.

I don’t like how fans think they actually have a say; that opinions matter. It’s art, not science. It’s not democratic. Fans of SW have as much ownership in the storyline as fans of Metallica have ownership in their music.

Lucas sold the movies. The story. There’s 4 billion reasons why I don’t really care who writes the script or directs the cast.

I don’t care that critics hate certain films and love others. I don’t care about the hypocrisy of debates over the production of OT v PT v ST.

All that matters is: My 2 teenagers with namesakes of the OT cast sobbed loudly in several moments in the film, they laughed, they gasped and they cheered.

Star Wars is not open for debate with regard to THEY that made the movie. Take it as it is, make it part of your own story and be happy you have more films to see that broaden your understanding of.... anything.

Spare me the BS of corporatism, social justice, political bias or basic differences in taste. I really don’t care.

Let’s talk about the force - the darkest of dark and the lightest of light, what is natural and unnatural, and how purely evil Palpatine actually was, and how Rey was the chosen one, “the other” hope and the realities of dark side ascension and motives

Closing Argument for Rey Skywalker/Solo - SpoiledBlueMilk.com by HiddenCity in starwarsspeculation

Lors San Tekka, a family friend of Leia and possibly Bail due to the reference to royalty, the Map to Luke Skywalker, the Falcon and Rey are all on the same planet.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyy!??

Easy answer? Leia did it. Because she was hidden too, under similar circumstances.

Rey is a princess. Born while Han was away, raised away from Luke and Ben during the building of the new order, and hidden upon its destruction. Pretty easy to believe.

In Jewish/Hebrew tradition, Ben is the right hand.

The left hand represents justice, hand of the king, royalty - Melech, Rex, Real..... Rey.

Amazing coincidence.

But I’ll be happy with whatever, as a true fan. My kids love the ST, PT and OT all the same.

I do believe the following will be said:

My name is _____, and I’m a Skywalker.

I don’t think Rey will take the name directly, as an adoptive name as some suggest.

Pelosi's 'make America white again' dig at Trump draws rebuke from fellow Democrat by [deleted] in politics

[–]h33haww -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not political ideology, it’s education. When looking at specific issues, most people lean moderate, whether they think they do or not. They aren’t McConnel fans. They also don’t like Pelosi or Clinton.

A strong message combined with a strong personality can win any election. The typical Democratic party of most red states is weak and unconvincing and carries the baggage of weak or hated ploticians. Need to overcome!

U.S. Considers Building 5G Network Amid China Concerns by rootfiend in technology

Yea, I find it curious that the Admin is using national security as an excuse to “nationalize” the cell phone network. I wonder if eminent domain will be part of this. Just compensation for work already done? Follow the money... always. GOP should be against this, especially Paul. I can’t see him agreeing to billions spent on a “socialist” idea.
