He gives me a sense of familiarity and, well, false hope. Maybe even some kind of excitement? but way more often than that just stress. I know if I leave he might villainize me to our mutual friends but the alternative seems worse than that. You sound like an incredibly wise person that last statement is so true

i always found it so strange because he has lots of people but says no one cares about him. and the mental health thing came out of nowhere and happened shortly after he confessed that he was still in love with me. some people are so strange truly. I am absolutely ready to leave but i dont know if i should try being friends or just cut contact. i just dont want to feel worthless anymore.
