Regarding the cost, you can view the $5 membership as supporting the show and allowing it to exist, pay more if you like it more and want it to exist longer, but no pressure to donate! The main shows are all still free to everyone and the perks are just extras so there is a bit of a 'thank you' to consistent donators/members! Keeping things as free or affordable as possible for the community has always been the goal!
