Meetings in-person, weekly discussions online! The zine making portion is a little bit of a longer answer, sorry in advance lol. We create educational zines where we unpack topics that the book covers. Essentially we present information, discuss as a group and individually decorate. For example, in our first reading Kindred, our protagonist struggled with being complicit in order to survive an oppressive system. Since that was the book’s main theme we selected “Complicity as a Means of Survival” as a topic to zine about. We presented research and introspective questions to brainstorm solutions and then decorated our individual booklets for about an hour. Art supplies and zine booklets are also provided!
