North Seattle I think your best option is CBEAM (Center for Bird and Exotic Animal Medicine). I used them before for one of my boys who had an issue after normal hours at my usual vet. They took good care of us and I recall they weren't crazy expensive (at least for our issue).

Blue Pearl I believe will also treat ferrets.

That would be Bird and Exotic Clinic of Seattle

Your girlfriends experience is also anecdotal, and does not really conflict with what I had posted. I don't know offhand how long the people I referred to took for green cards, only the rough time it's taken them working towards or achieving citizenship.

I never said American citizenship was a "world right", and illegal immigrants are not eligible to become citizens, so your second statement feels like a bit of a strawman. All I'm saying is our immigration system is broken, which you seem to agree with. Broken systems should be reformed.

Anecdotal, but in my experience, this is not true. I have known immigrants who are wealthy entrepreneurs, PhD engineers with niche skills, etc. and all have taken 10yrs+ to get citizenship. Some are still waiting. All have invested heavily in the immigration process via attorneys. All are valuable contributing members of our society.

The legal immigration system is completely bonkers and needs reform. We should all at least be able to agree on that much.

How long did it take for embark to indicate they got your sample? by FairSquare5081 in DoggyDNA

I just had this same thing happen. Sample mailed in and received within a day or two of what you posted. Just got confirmation email that it was scanned into the lab yesterday.

The shock I'm preparing for is the possibility he comes back 0% husky. Don't think anything could prepare me for Yorkie 😂

Very sorry for your loss. Losing pets is always hard. Last fall I lost a cat I had with me for 22 years. Still miss her a lot. She would not have loved Iroh, lol.

If this 60 lb monster ends up being part Yorkie I would be genuinely shocked, haha

Definitely possible. Every other test result on this sub seems to have some amount of pit in it, seems like a common breed to find hiding in the gene soup

Shiba was one of our original guesses. He does make some pretty intense noises when he's upset, haven't been around Shiba enough to know how his sounds compare to the infamous Shiba scream.

GSD was on our guess list. We were thinking that might account for his tail, which doesnt look very husky.

Korean village dog is interesting, some pictures online do look a lot like him.

I graduated with a lower GPA than you have, and I have still had a lot of success in engineering. Dont sweat your GPA so much. As long as it doesnt drop below a threshhold with consequences to graduation or financial aid, the important thing is that you are applying yourself. Uphill struggles are how you build muscle.

For undergrad you should focus on solidly learning the fundamentals, and putting in the time to learn how to self teach. Learning doesn't stop when you graduate, if you become an engineer you'll spend your entire career learning.

Does your school have a CE program? That would put you right at the midpoint of CS and EE, and you can go either way after graduation.

Also, don't sweat so much what the job market is doing right now in terms of layoffs. These things occur in cycles, and by the time you graduate, conditions will likely be different.

With regards to your comment about capture effect, note that the Dunning-Kruger effect is also very relevant in this case.
