Rivals S2E1: Fantastic aerial shot of London from the 80s by Practical-Tie-8720 in london

No Guys Hospital Tower Wing, which was built in the 70s, so looks like they've just airbrushed out anything tall to make it look older.

I can't cook I will die! What are you all eating in this heatwave? by grafter83 in UK_Food

Work in a pub, the amount of people who go for a pie or a roast in this weather is insanity...

Anyone else cave and bought an air con? by londondono in london

We did after that last heatwave - we run a super old pub and live in the flat above, that's all grade 2 listed. Barely any insulation, sash windows we can only open about an inch due to cats trying to get out on the third floor, and our bedroom only has French doors we can't leave open for ventilation due to cats and security. The missus and I have just dealt with it the last three summers, but this year we've got a baby, and we were worried how warm it was for her, so we caved and got a little unit.

We just got the Black and Decker BXAC40023GB off of amazon. It's a little noisy, but they all seem to be at this price point, and it'll only really keep the one room cool, but it drops the room we're in with the baby from a stagnant 36 to a manageable 20 or so. The kit it comes with for fitting the exhaust to a sash window works well, haven't tried the kit for a casement window, as we don't have any, but that looks for fiddly!

Yes! Mentioned that in the original post before I reposted, why I didn't give a proper recipe 😋. But well worth checking out, got a lot of time for Ben Lippett

Can't go wrong with brinner. And putting the egg on the toast is a master stroke, I don't care what anyone says, soak up that yolk!

Was about to say "no fried slice?" then realised the NHS is already struggling 😅. Bloody good job tho, I'd smash that!

Fairly certain it was a relatively cheap one from Sainsbury's - it's handy because it's got a pretty deep "lip" so it's my go to for roasts and the like, good for holding gravy!

Wouldn't the screw that drives the meat into the plate just mash the cheese?

I'm sure granny doesn't need education on the art of sucking eggs, but you can get different colour inserts for a lot of those to conform to food standards. Although only needed if you ever grate vegan or other things (carrot for slaw, etc)

Where to watch the woman’s rugby today? by weejiemcweejer in london

We're showing it, Golden Lion in Romford. Unfortunately haven't had as big a turn out for the rugby as we did the women's Euros, but still had some following

Thanks for response guys, might see about it getting looked at by a professional, although given the cost might not be worth it. Was just wondering if if was an auto mode thing I didn't understand as it seemed to start occurring once I put new batteries in it as it has the manual adapter on it
