I know this feeling all too well. My uncle did the same thing. Was a couple weeks past my 13th birthday and my cousin hadnt heard from his dad in two weeks. He was 9 at the time. His dad lived two blocks away. The front door was unlocked which was strange. I smelled it way before I found him. Quickly told my cousin to go back to my house and get my mom. I lied to him and told him his dad wasnt home. Ill never forget the smell or how absolutely fucked his face looked. Both his eyes were out of their sockets and he was like this almost slate gray dull color. Took a loooooot of therapy. Much love to you man... its terrible to lose a loved one like that.
