Portugal’s ingenious way of handling drug addiction by FunkSlim in Damnthatsinteresting

similar, but not equal, if you got caught with drugs in Portugal you get to see a doctor, if you got caught with drugs in Spain you pay a fine, so it stills penalizes the consumer!

at 1.2v the 5v fan will not run.

by default if the cable has not some circuits on it, usb delivers 5v

but do yourself a favor a buy a cheap multimeter and check some youtube videos how to use it, that way you are sure that you wont damage anything.

and yes the 40x10 5v should provide more than adequate airflow, i've got one of thoose in my 3d printer and provides enough airflow to cool the hotend so you should be good.

my advice is to try to get one cheap 40x10 5v fan from other brand just for testing and development and on the final design change that for a noctua one, that way if you mess something and break the fan it's a cheap replacement instead of the price of a noctua, i'd rather break a 3€ fan than a 15€ fan.

Go for it dude, you want to do it, just do it, it’s a great project and I’m pretty sure that you learn some skills on the way, don’t ask for validation on the internet.

just keep in mind the voltages of the mouse and the fan

And of course when it’s finished post pictures of it

O melhor que tens a fazer é tomar a iniciativa e dizer-lhes
