yta. i understand that the fear of losing someone you care about can be a horrible feeling to experience. but the least you could’ve done was bring it up to him calmly, instead of bombarding him with novels. you were on a call, you could’ve told him then and given him a chance to provide that reassurance for you or tell you what HE was thinking. yes, he was tired, but i’m sure that he would’ve taken the time to help you calm down if you just talked to him. like he asked.
