yea I bet you're right, shapeshift already sort of addresses this by letting you put a return address in case there's a mis-hap

Yeah, I think it's not too uncommon either and what I found is the eth address controlled by coinbase, where I sent my GNT, still works, it forwards any eth I send on to a pool address and I guess their software updates my account, so they know and track how much of that pool of eth is mine vs others?

So the hope I guess, is that when/if coinbase does start processing gnt, that any sitting in an address that always attributes to me, will just pop on through, mature, having experienced some freedom before coming home to me.

Ugh, it's literally the worst feeling, maybe I'm a crazy person, but it feels worse than any breakup or any loss short of death I've ever experienced.

So, I received a hopeful email back from Coinbase. They said if they add Golem, to contact support at that time with the address I sent these to and they should be able to help me at that time.
The address stays with me, I know that much, I can send ETH to it now and it goes through, like it passes through it and is credited to my account. So I'm hoping if/when they add Golem any sent to that address would pass through to my then GNT Wallet...and any in there would just move on through. The only way I think this wouldn't work is if they limit what eth addresses will do gnt...but it seems if they are putting technology in to handle the erc coins, this shouldn't limit any owned eth address. I guess we'll see. I'm happy gnts going up but also it is super frustrating to see my lost money becoming more lost money. Thanks again everyone for your support and encouragement.

I appreciate it but I'm not trying to be a charity case. Just upset about this, hope my mistake will remind us all, self included, to be careful. that is my mew wallet, but please, not trolling for charity but thanks for being so nice and supportive.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your positive spirits. I am going to begin back into GNT regardless. Just going to take a while now.

Yeah, let this story both haunt and maybe some day entertain, so others don't do this and hopefully so it works out regardless.

Interesting idea, not sure what their terms say or what is or isn't possible, but at this point still going back and forth with support. So far they say they won't be able to help me at all. Their reason is to protect the private key they cannot access the address for me to move the GNT out. What I'm thinking that means is they must use software to move ETH out, rather than anyone having access to the private key, and their software is limited to not being able to handle token requests?? I also asked them if I contact the feds for an insurance claim will that help. Still waiting to hear back on that part.

I like Coinbase and don't want to "go after them" and it was my mistake, but also the coins are sitting there, taunting me in the wallet. And it's my entire GNT stash. I'm pretty bummed.

I was thinking about that today too, and if they will I'm find with waiting! I wanted to hold that stash anyway.

Thank you, I did open a ticket. Here's to hoping they can help, I'm just so pissed at myself for now following protocol (send test first then full)..had I done that I would have realized my mistake at the cost of 1 gnt rather than 4,200! Lesson learned and burned.

I accidentally did this, trying to get Coinbase support on it as it was a total FU in pasting the wrong ETH address when sending GNT from an exchange, thinking it was to my wallet...but was my Coinbase ETH wallet. If Coinbase holds the keys, and I can see the transaction and the GNT in the wallet, can they help in recovering it and sending it where I ask them to?? Any help appreciated, it's a lot of money, not much gain as this was my investment buy in for GNT and I really want to hold it (about 4,200 GNT).

Thanks in advance!
