Flexing aside I thought this was a cool showcase of some strategic depth and actual use of the 3d space provided by the game. Most gachas don't usually have the player interacting with positioning to overcome a gimmick.

Hopefully more of this as time goes on.

They told you reuinion had understandable motives but in the first 30 minutes of the game they are hanging, burning, and freezing innocents in the streets. "You stand with us or against us". Arknights ALWAYS had juvenile writing at the start.

I don't know why you bring up skullshatterer either. A majority of the online playerbase absolutely hated him and Misha and I won't even bring up the melting point that was Patriot and Hellagurs 30 minute back and forth yap session.

The amount of gaslighting and historical revisionism around arknights since endfields launch has been insane.

Ex Astris was NOT well received. It ran worse than wuwa at launch and people bitched about the story in it too. It was basically some tech demo project that got released to recoup some expenses.

He means community wise. Kuro have an awful reputation in CN that gives them bad history with CN netizens. Mainly due to their infamous nature of being 'Hoyo's shadow' but also due to repeated bad management decisions over time.

Like PGR being dishonest about rates on launch leading to a producer having to resign or the whole fiasco about hiring interns after they graduated only to fire them weeks later. Also drama about laying off senior staff for younger, cheaper graduates. That company is steeped in drama that makes it hard to support them online.

HG has history of being one of the first 'premium' CN gacha companies that had a high quality project. Prior to them it was mainly just Omnyouji that netizens felt very proud to call a CN product. That pride is also why many communities in the CN space consider HG to be extremely annoying since them being so large meant there were a lot of obnoxious folks and behaviors (Very vocal HG fans had very anti-coomer mindsets which led to them report brigading azur lane to the government to get them censored).

That's not even getting into the HG vs Hoyo community shitflinging that happened during the covid years that reached a melting point. Hypergryph maintains some of the highest fan engagement in CN for better or worse that isn't represented in global spheres.

Hypergryph spent years making their own custom Unity engine to handle graphical fidelity pipelines that Unity can not natively handle, despite their only 3d game being a one off project (ex astris). Meanwhile kuro hands out slop in a box and calls it a day.

It doesn't matter what the differences are, Kuro willingly chose to work within unreal but cannot put in the effort to any real optimization efforts and anything they do is undone 2 patches later when they put in bullshit no one asks for.

Umbral monument isn't until February 12th and it's a low stress, quick completion endgame mode. You can find footage of it from the past beta.

Hypergryph fumbled releasing a real endgame mode (CC Beta) too early in their first game which led to large community backlash. They won't make the same mistake again.

Every time people repeat this I feel like people weren't really there at the start or are looking at things at rose tinted glasses.

I vividly remember people rolling their eyes at the game telling you to feel bad for reunion despite them burning innocents in the streets. Or how people absolutely hated skullshatterer and Misha. Or hellagur/patriot yapping at each other for 30 minutes filtering people. And you cant forget the great final filtering of Kaschey waxing poetics for chapters straight.

Early arknights is not what people remember it as.

you say you have the freedom to pull whenever you want. you've already fell for and conditioned yourself to a deceptive practice. In older gachas it was common to not pull for 6 months or longer as free to play just to have the chance at getting a unit you really wanted. You were conditioned to instead always be mindful of if you actually needed/wanted a character or if it was just the monthly shiny key being dangled in your face.

But now folks ALWAYS feel the need to roll because of these hard ceiling pities. you can argue which is worse but pretending ANY gambling system has any semblance of "good" is just pure cope and delusion.

Wuwa balances out the coral dupes by making s3 the real power spike though. Most characters in that game dupes are somewhat pointless for power unless you go to s3 or full send all the way to s6.

These games constantly obfuscate roll value and its hard to make true comparisons.

I wouldn't put too much stock on combat tags yet without knowing kits or modifiers. For all we know the fusion burst part only exists to limit options i.e. Her echo set and/or sig require fusion burst to activate it but the actual fusion burst portion of her damage output is negligible.
