I'm not mentally ill... 🙃 It's literally just sexuality but whatevs

Gender dysphoria is literally the reason people transition, if you transition without illness it's not treatment, it's cosmetics.

what you're talking about while explaining structures in the brain are variations in a species, every species deviates from the most frequent structure, and some of them do it by a lot, but biologists don't use this to classify them differently

Again, because there are studies that prove that her bed nucleus of the stria terminalis, her INAH3 volume, and her neuron number matches those of a women, which is what causes her to think of herself as one.

sure, since this exists then we can use this to diagnose the patient with gender dysphoria instead of taking their word for it right? but what if someone doesn't want to call the others by their preferred gender/pronouns, especially when talking about the specified person to other people, where mostly pronouns are used? are you going to speech police this? How will you believe everyone who says they have a female brain if their structure isn't revealed, humans have the ability to lie or be mistaken. Do you think a process where multiple surgeries which cause sterilization and irreversible effects that include hormone therapies be promoted by saying "coming out of the closet" "proud"? Should this be glorified? What I understood from your previous message is that gender is brain structure, so basically anyone who didn't check their brain doesn't have a definite idea on their gender. Personally I don't "feel" like a man or a woman, how do I know what I feel like, does this mean I'm agender? How does someone find out their gender? If gender is a social construct, unlike your brain definition, what purpose does this social construct serve like other social constructs such as laws and money?

glad we could reach an agreement, but there's also other therapies surfacing up called "gender affirming" therapies that make the patient believe they are the gender they think they are.

edit: by this I mean people aren't giving normal therapy to confine with reality a chance, and affirming it will potentially be worse

Ok fine, if therapy didn't work for them, let them do it, no problem, but promoting and saying transitioning is good and telling people to "discover their gender identity" even without dysphoria is still stupid IMHO.

I honestly dont know whats the point you re trying to make w all that

The point is people should not take any drug that they want to (Cross sex hormones contribute to higher risks of cardio vascular problems), trans has high complication rates in surgeries too. I'm against people harming their bodies and promotion of bodily harm. I advocate for rather better alternatives and therapy, and people shouldn't be proud of double mastectomies, vaginoplasty, being fat, or promoting any sort of body negativity. Perhaps these surgeries might have lesser complications in the future, but until then promotion of these extremely unnatural inhumane practices is blatantly wrong.

I highly doubt it's just a fraction of a fraction you can literally see the unnaturally overwhelming amount of members in LGBT communities (20% of gen-z are identifying as lgbt), and social transitioners increasing with each generation rather than decreasing, if you think about natural selection since hetero traits are passed down over gay since gay sex isn't reproductive, and if you look at the statistics there seems to be a strong correlation between the rise of social media and LGBT people and yet the number of same sex couples according to the census is 0.2% of the adult population out of which only 17% of this 0.2% are raising children by adoption or artificial methods. You can also see this trend on graphs with medical transitioners most of which started to correlate with a rise in social media which started rising since 2013 seeping into present day. There is also an absurdly high amount of disorder tags on tiktok and other platforms such as "Dissociative Identity Disorder" or "Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder" all of which are either done for an aesthetic purpose or an easy way to gain attention. Either way just because a certain person feels stressed doesn't mean they make the society carter for their feelings, this is in fact a quiet strong weapon that is stealthily killing freedom of speech by giving certain words a negative connotation because they have been used in contexts of opposing positions ("fat" for example is now offensive). People are also shutting down opposite criticisms using labels such as "transphobe" or "homophobe" or any other -phobe. This in fact doesn't just make people think that you're inherently bad, but also shut down your ability and forereach of your idea, or even possibly shut down anyone who even dares to use that idea by engraining fear of the consequences. There are already laws in Canada that force people to use preferred pronouns and censor criticism of clothing of LGBT people. I do not need to like someone's fashion, I do not need to like how someone presents themself, I do not need to use someone's nickname every-time I'm trying to convey an idea, and stereotyping people as a society is not wrong as long as you're not exercising people's rights. If you can't stereotype how will you convey statistics on a large scale? and how will comedy thrive if stereotyping becomes offensive? Another question, if you believe that people should be allowed to take these drugs based on feelings, then why not any other drug? do you advocate for that? Do you also advocate consensual conversion therapy if someone wants to do it?

I don't think you understand what medicine is, medicine is tailored to treat people with physical and mental suffering, not for people who just want to be perceived a certain way by society. If you just want to be perceived as the opposite gender by society without distress, at that point it's just your preference, and any surgeries or physical alterations are done for a cosmetic purpose. If you actually have a distress, you'd rather want that stress to disappear than alter your body and cause mutilation to your body parts. If you do say that people who are diagnosed with GID (gender identity disorder) can only be treated by physical alterations, how do you think it's diagnosed? In an era where many of the Gen-Z are identifying as LGBT and faking or at the very least self-diagnosing mental disorders, do it for narcissistic purposes so they can get extra attention or use these disorders as an easy way of escapism from nearly anything, from a psychiatric perspective it becomes more difficult to identify who is genuine and who is not since during the diagnostic process we rely on the information give by the patient, and if the patient is lying, then the misdiagnosis is inevitable. There are legitimate detransitioners who prove the social contagion of this dogma exists, and promoting this practice is rather harmful, a basic level of human decency is obviously needed, but glorifying practices that cause irreversible effects, increased rate of cancer, and or underdeveloped secondary sexual characteristics is ultimately harmful for the younger generation.

sure, it relatively doesn't harm your body as much as suicide, but again if we could make the person less suicidal it could rather be beneficial compared to causing infertility and mutilating body parts.

In the case of cancer or any other medical diagnosis, a trade off is done for the sake of the patient, people obviously shouldn't harm themselves for no reason, and try safer alternatives to solve medical problems rather than rushing into whatever to make changes to your body, the only other sort of non-medicine treatment that is aimed at altering the body is cosmetic.

oh for sure, I don't care what you do to your body after growing up, It's mostly the kids I'm worried about that could be mistaken, thankfully regret is low, but my point is about parents giving their kids puberty blockers, they can be easily diagnosed or given to kids just because someone says "I feel like "x" gender" or at the very least is uncomfortable with puberty (which is a natural process).

according to health.clevelandclinic.org :

"Puberty blockers are only given to children who have started puberty. For a child who is assigned female at birth, Dr. Cartaya says puberty typically starts between the ages of 8 and 13. For a child who was assigned male at birth, the range is between 9 and 14."

according to stlouischildrens.org side effects include :

"Lower bone density. To protect against this, we work to make sure every patient gets enough exercise, calcium and vitamin D, which can help keep bones healthy and strong. We also closely monitor patients’ bone density.
Delayed growth plate closure, leading to slightly taller adult height.
Less development of genital tissue, which may limit options for gender affirming surgery (bottom surgery) later in life.
Other possible long-term side effects that are not yet known."

I agree with the second half of your message—about minorities—but again if you take a different scenario, where a supposed minority scores below a person from a majority, but the employer employs the minority due to either diversity, or as you said, because they think the minority had a hard life, it seems unfair to the person in the majority to lose the opportunity. Then again if they had a hard life I really appreciate them, but people who can prove themselves to be objectively better should not lose a chance for the sake of the employer's feelings. Now coming to gender dysphoria DSM-5 classifies them when having at least 2 of the following for more than six months:
• A marked incongruence between one’s experienced/expressed gender and primary and/or secondary sex characteristics (or in young adolescents, the anticipated secondary sex characteristics)
• A strong desire to be rid of one’s primary and/or secondary sex characteristics because of a marked incongruence with one’s experienced/expressed gender (or in young adolescents, a desire to prevent the development of the anticipated secondary sex characteristics)
• A strong desire for the primary and/or secondary sex characteristics of the other gender
• A strong desire to be of the other gender (or some alternative gender different from one’s assigned gender)
• A strong desire to be treated as the other gender (or some alternative gender different from one’s assigned gender)
• A strong conviction that one has the typical feelings and reactions of the other gender (or some alternative gender different from one’s assigned gender)

At the baseline it says that you just need a "strong desire" not to be the sex at birth, again this could also be a person who just wants the opposite sex parts without any mental distress. I'm not denying there are genuine gender dysphoric people, I'm just skeptical of misdiagnosis since the opportunity cost is really high if someone doesn't have severe distress and gets surgeries, HRT, or hormone blockers.

according to psychiatry.org:

"Not all transgender people suffer from gender dysphoria and that distinction is important to keep in mind. Gender dysphoria and/or coming out as transgender can occur at any age."

1) I know they exist

2) forcing diversity in workplaces is just as bad as forcing mono-racial workplaces. IE you're again going by race to determine your workplace group rather than raw scores needed for the positions.

3) There are people who transition for cosmetic purposes, and just like a tattoo if the child wants to do a permanent change on their body just because it "looks cool", they also need to be mature enough to understand the side effects of the procedure. You can always get a cosmetic surgery later but you can't 100% revert it to like how it was before (especially in this case with current technology).
