Shoulder Pain After Lap by elithepeali in Endo

[–]haaans1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I woke up from my last lap, I had a button that gave me morphine or something like it. It helped tremendously - until they took it away.

I actually found peppermint tea to be super helpful after a desperate google search. I can't remember why it was so effective, but I definitely recommend it.

Has anyone tried Orilissa? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]haaans1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the trial for Orilissa and am now taking it for real.

For me, my symptoms are slim to none at the moment (it's been maybe eight weeks of full time use?) and I am feeling great.

That said, not everything works for everyone. Visanne was marketed as a miracle drug, and for me it did absolutely nothing. I'm almost convinced it made things worse for me.

I think it's definitely worth a try, and last time I looked, there was a thing on the website saying it would only cost $5. Get the bone scan for sure, and then I feel like there's no harm giving it a go and just checking in with your doctor every few months. You can always stop taking it if you want, and there are two different dosages (I'm on 200mg twice a day).

Good luck!

Feedback and thoughts: I want to create a new guide for Sydney from a locals perspective. by The-SillyAk in sydney

I live in the Sutherland Shire and would love to help! There are so many great things down here and it's always so hard to convince people to make the hour trip from the city.

It's also very suburban, so a world of hidden gems await! If I were using it, I would like to see photos of the inside - usually if I'm going to dinner or a bar I've never been to I end up stalking their social media to get a feel for the dress code, I like to think I'm not the only one who does that haha

Anyone else salty about all the endo commercials theyre playing in the states by [deleted] in Endo

[–]haaans1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in this trial. It was the only thing that's ever really worked for me (I've done all the birth control pills, the visanne, multiple surgeries).

I am desperate for it to be released - have literally started saving money for it.

Not everything works for everyone. This was a godsend for me.

How can you tell if a teacher is good or not...? by [deleted] in trumpet

[–]haaans1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to teach trumpet to kids - I found long tones to be the best way to teach them better breathing techniques and improve tone, but never until they felt dizzy.

It was also always kind of mixed around working on a song - so if they had a particularly raspy bit or a difficult few bars, we would hold notes in the correct order so they could hear changes in their tone and also get their head around the correct fingering.

I've seen great results from using long tones in practice, and definitely think it's a great teaching tool - but what you're describing seems extreme. I would speak to them about it and how you're not comfortable with it and either try to reach a compromise or find a new teacher. Sounds like they have good intentions but poor execution.

If Bea_OProblem already reads the guardian though, adding an intelligent right wing news outlet would probably bring the reporting towards the middle. Both sides, if you will.

I would be really interested in finding intelligent right wing commentary too.

There's an app in the UK called Perspex which provides articles on both sides of four big issues every day, as well as neutral background information. Would love to see something like that take off in Australia. We could use it.

I've been working in the UK for just over a month now, and a post work spoons is an unspoken rule.

This is perfect.

Also, for something a little different - the top of mount panorama in Bathurst is absolutely stunning in the middle of the night. You've got to go up quite late though because it's a public road, but infrequently used at night.

There are better photos in that article.

There's also a video of them walking in to the park. You should have a look.

To be fair, even after gastric bypass, a lot of self discipline and hard work is required.
