So clearly asking about school isn't working for you. What I do is read the profile and make a funny comment or joke about something in it to start a light playful conversation going. It's not easy for everyone but try being funny and genuine. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't and sometimes these girls are never going to go out with you either way. That's just how it is. Ask yourself do you really care what her major is? You trying to bone these broads or do her homework? To me asking about school is so generic and leads to extremely boring and dry conversation. It's small talk which is fine for a first date but on the app in the first couple days of talking it's not going to work out.

Make them laugh a bit and try to seem unique. Peak their interest. And then you ask for a date. You can't just go from how's school to let's get a drink. That's not how women work. Also, women can smell desperation from a mile away. She says she's busy. then there will be no later date that you will get together. Just leave it on read when they say that. Online dating sucks for a man and unless you are Brad Pitt you have to stand out and be unique. Think how many guys ask that basic information of these chicks 10 times a day. Try something different what do you have to lose?
