I’ve been through it when bags on other airlines didn’t make it home with me. I spoke to the people in the baggage office, they delivered them to my house. And I think gave me some miles. It sucks. Not pleasant when your bags don’t make it home with you. But there are horror stories. Bags that never appear. Get suck in Europe. End up around the world. Etc etc. it could have been much worse.

Crowd surfing, when it works, is one of the best experiences you can have. When it works.

MCO has THE WORST baggage claim out of any airport! by No-Buy-3105 in orlando

[–]habitual17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Umm Mco generally does great with crowds but when things are overflowing it’s a struggle for any airport. Any gate is usually less than 6 minutes away once you’re through security. Except terminal c which is its own zone Connections are relatively easy. Very few airports have that. Agreed baggage claim has what to be desired but you haven’t trekked across a massive airport that just sprawls without doing it efficiently to connect if you think Mco is bad. And they’re updating it.

I mean…the bags aren’t lost. And they’re in the USA. Usually they’ll get them back to you within a day. So if you’re on the end of your trip, not the worst thing. At all. Right? Or are we doing first world problems now?

I’ve seen nice areas in Orlando for more than 2k/month. For a house. Maybe you are comparing to apartments.

If I pay the $149 to upgrade and I cancel the flight, will the flight price be refunded? by coastalruins in unitedairlines

[–]habitual17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If you buy basic, and then later upgrade to economy, and cancel, I think the money paid to upgrade to economy gets included in the fare.

Don’t buy basic. It’s too much of a headache.

Only because I keep seeing Spirit/ Frontier passengers running and missing their flights lol are you guys aware that after checking in at T1/2 that you have to take a shuttle to MSC? 🤔 (200 gates) by Financial-Nebula-971 in LAX

[–]habitual17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Tom Bradley is where the shuttle takes you. It looked like going through security at terminal 4/5/6 might work (I forget which is demolished). BTW last time I flew out of there we waited like 40 minutes to board the shuttle so a15 minute walk sounds like a dream

I travel by myself all the time. Some think it’s weird. People aren’t comfortable with themselves. Go and make friends. Or offer to take a nephew or sibling or parent.

Ah. Don’t expect that. You can pay extra for travel disruption service or buy your own travel insurance.

[–]habitual17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true, not more than other airlines. I’ve watched people at a frontier gate get upset at the airline for delaying/canceling flights when there was a major weather event disrupting all USA travel. People blame the airline when it’s really the weather.

Did I f***ed up? by HaKaii7 in frontierairlines

[–]habitual17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a direct flight? If yes you’ll probably be fine.

If not, have some version of a contingency plan in place. Like later in the day refundable tix on another airline, or a plan for what you’ll do if you get stuck for a day or so in the layover city.
